Hyundai Motors India on July 10th launched the Exter SUV that is built on the same platform as the Grand i10 Nios. The main aim of the creation of this SUV according to Hyundai Motors was to develop an affordable SUV for the Indian Market, and offer best safety features as that’s the main priority of the carmaker. The Exter comes with few rivals and one of them is the Tata Punch, and today we’ll find out what features does the Punch misses over the Exter.

  1. Sunroof
  2. Fully Digital Instrument Cluster
  3. Bigger Infotainment System
  4. Paddle Shifters (for Automatic variants)
  5. Wireless Charging Pad
  6. CNG Fuel Option
  7. Dual Dashcams
  8. Rear AC vents
  9. Six Airbags
  10. Tyre-Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS)
  11. Vehicle Stability Control System (VSC)
  12. Electronic Stability Control (ESC)
  13. Hill Assist

The first feature that the Tata Punch misses out on is the Sunroof. In the Indian Market, customers love sunroof even if it ain’t panoramic, customers still love this feature which brings in a lot of airy feeling, something Tata should’ve offered with the Punch. Next is the Fully Digital Instrument Cluster instead of the Semi-Digital Instrument cluster Tata offers with the Punch. The Punch comes with 7-inch infotainment system while the Exter comes with 8-inch infotainment system which is another miss for Tata.

The Punch comes with Automatic Gearbox but no Paddle Shifters on Steering Wheel, but Hyundai at almost the same price offers Exter with Paddle Shifters. Tata at the moment hasn’t launched the ICNG version of Punch and is expected to launch it sooner, but for now it misses on the alternate fuel option as well. Hyundai Exter comes dual dashcam setup to capture incidents on the road that can be used as evidence by you, unfortunately, Tata won’t introduce this feature in Punch anytime soon.

Even though the Punch has a 5-star Global NCAP safety rating, it still doesn’t get six airbags, at least for top variants while Hyundai is offering six airbags as standard for all variants. Tata doesn’t offer these safety features in Punch – TPMS, VSC, ESC, and Hill Assist while Hyundai does with Exter.
