2023 Triumph Scramler 400X Launched at Rs. 2.63 Lakh!

Triumph Motorcycles has finally launched the new Scrambler 400X for the Indian Market at Rs. 2.63 Lakh which is Rs. 30,000 more expensive than its sibling, Speed 400.

The Triumph Scrambler 400 X shares the same liquid-cooled, 398cc, single-cylinder engine as the Speed 400, delivering 39.45 BHP at 8,000rpm and 37.5 NM at 6,500rpm. This engine is paired with a 6 Speed gearbox and features a slip and assist clutch for smoother shifting. While the primary frame remains unchanged from the Speed 400, the Scrambler 400 X differentiates itself with taller suspension units and a larger 19-inch front wheel. It does, however, weigh slightly more at 185 KG, which is 9 KG heavier than the Speed.

Due to the taller suspension, the seat height has been elevated to 835 MM, and ground clearance has increased to an impressive 195 MM. These adjustments underline its off-road capabilities, further reinforced by removable rubber inserts in the foot pegs, a standard sump guard, and a headlight grille. The tire sizes have also been altered, with a 100/80 19-inch front tyre and a 140/80 17-inch rear tyre.

The Scrambler features a larger 320 MM front brake while retaining the same rear brake. In terms of features, it largely mirrors the Speed 400, but it offers the option to deactivate the rear ABS. The Scrambler 400X is available in three color options – Matt Khaki Green / Fusion White, Carnival Red / Phantom Black, and Phantom Black / Silver Ice.

In the same price range, the only other liquid-cooled scrambler available is the Yezdi Scrambler (priced between Rs 2.10 lakh-2.12 lakh). However, the Yezdi is more budget-friendly and lacks the power and features of the Triumph Scrambler 400 X. In terms of performance and capability, the closest competitor is the KTM 390 Adventure X, also manufactured by Bajaj, priced at Rs 2.81 lakh (ex-showroom, India), which is Rs 18,000 more expensive than the Scrambler 400 X.
