Interior
Inside, the Lexus NX boasts a modern, flatter dashboard design dominated by a 14-inch touchscreen that replaces the previous touchpad-controlled system. This display is very-responsive and has support for wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The unique electric e-latch door handles provide a modern and sophisticated touch and a futuristic touch, with electronic handles inside and out. The NX feature a 17-speaker Mark Levinson sound system whose sound quality is amazing; digital instrument panel, 3D surround camera, and smart storage solutions. The rear seats feature a fold-down armrest, twin Type-C USB ports, and rear AC vents, though there are no controls for temperature or blower speed. Boot space is not class-leading at 520 liters, but it should suffice for most needs, with a large under-floor compartment available for extra storage.
Space and Comfort
The Lexus NX measures 4.66 meters in length and upon first look, you’ll notice the space inside is good. The front seats of the Lexus NX are designed to offer ample space and excellent support, ensuring a comfortable experience for occupants. The shoulder support and overall seating arrangement are well-sorted for front passengers. In contrast, the rear seats are positioned slightly lower than the front ones, which may be a consideration for taller individuals. While the under-thigh support and headroom are adequate for most passengers, those over six feet tall might find the space somewhat constrained. However, the rear seat angle significantly enhances overall comfort, contributing to a more pleasant ride for rear occupants.

Drive Review
So, we had the chance to take the Lexus’s Strong Hybrid Model for a long drive and here’s what we found. First of all, the variant we drove was the F-Sport, and all the variants comes equipped with the 2.5 L 4 Cylinder Petrol Hybrid Engine delivering 188 BHP and 239 NM Torque mated to an eCVT Transmission. It’s capable of sprinting from 0 – 100 KMPH in 7.7 seconds which is good, not bad at all. The NX manages an impressive mileage of 12-14 KMPL in city conditions and up to 18 KMPL on highways, which is very close to its claimed efficiency of 17.8 kmpl. This is excellent, especially considering the size and weight of the vehicle. Achieving such figures makes the NX a standout in its class, offering both performance and efficiency. While the EV-only range is limited to 4-5 km, the overall fuel efficiency remains impressive.
The driving experience of the NX is centered around smoothness and comfort. The power delivery is adequate for most situations, though it prioritizes a relaxed and refined drive rather than an urgent or quick response. The different drive modes offer minimal difference in performance, reinforcing the vehicle’s focus on delivering a consistently smooth experience. Body roll is well-contained, and the NX instills confidence when navigating corners, ensuring a stable and composed ride.
Gear shifts in the NX are decent, though not particularly quick, as the vehicle comes equipped with a CVT. This becomes more noticeable under hard acceleration, where engine noise starts to permeate the cabin, despite the presence of thick glass, which does a commendable job of minimizing exterior noise. The steering is properly weighted, offering a substantial feel even at a standstill, and providing a sense of assurance at triple-digit speeds.
The Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) like lane keep assist, lane departure warning, adaptive high beam assist, and forward collision warning perform their functions effectively, enhancing the overall safety and driving experience.
Ride and Handling
The suspension setup of the NX includes MacPherson Strut suspension at the front while Double Wishbone Suspension setup at the rear.Suspension quality, a hallmark of Toyota & Lexus vehicles, is excellent in the NX. It is slightly on the firmer side but effectively absorbs rough patches and uneven tarmac, delivering a comfortable ride across various road conditions.
Our Verdict
The Lexus NX is a compelling choice for those seeking a premium hybrid SUV that blends luxury, technology, and efficiency. Its modern exterior design, featuring a signature spindle grille and sharp lighting elements, is complemented by a high-tech interior with a 14-inch touchscreen, wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay, and a 17-speaker Mark Levinson sound system. The front seats offer excellent comfort, while the rear seats, though slightly snug for taller passengers, are still adequate. The NX with the strong hybrid system delivers excellent fuel efficiency, offering a refined and smooth driving experience
The NX also stands out for its comprehensive safety features, including 8 airbags, Level 2 ADAS, and a 360 Surround View Camera, ensuring a secure and confident drive. Its suspension system provides a comfortable ride across various road conditions, making it a well-rounded option in the luxury SUV market. If you prioritize comfort, advanced technology, and fuel efficiency in a premium SUV, the Lexus NX is an excellent choice.
