The all-new Nissan KICKs is making its mark in the compact crossover segment, drawing inspiration from high-end sneakers for its design aesthetic. Notably, it introduces an All-Wheel-Drive (AWD) Drive-type for the first time, enhancing its versatility and appeal. Scheduled for launch in the United States and Canada this summer, it will be available in three trims – S, SV, and SR, complemented by two premium packages.
Nissan claims that the SUV leads its segment in ground clearance and cargo space, ensuring practicality alongside style. Equipped with a specialized “SNOW” Mode, it optimizes performance on slippery surfaces by adjusting the All-Wheel-Drive and Vehicle Dynamic Control Systems, enhancing traction and stability. Additionally, the Yaw Control Mechanisms work to maintain the vehicle’s intended trajectory, particularly useful when navigating corners on snow or ice-covered roads.
Sporting a striking and expressive design language, the Nissan KICKs boasts a wide stance and sculpted fenders, conveying a sense of dynamism. Its lower half exudes ruggedness, characterized by robust fenders and a distinctive boxy silhouette, ensuring it stands out on any terrain.
The SUV gets a subtle roof spoiler and a full-width LED Tail-lamps that span the width of the tailgate dividing it into two sections. These tail-lamps seamlessly wrap around into combination lights on the flared rear fenders. Adding a dynamic touch, the rocker panels feature an intricate, three-dimensional shape reminiscent of athletic sneaker soles. Inside, the redesigned cabin offers a cocoon-like sensation with a dashboard housing twin screens – one for infotainment and one for instrument cluster and in front of it is the new flat-bottom four-spoke steering wheel.
The equipment list is extensive featuring two cupholders, an enclosed storage compartment, bottle holders in the doors, Nissan’s Zero Gravity seating design, touch-capacitive switches for automatic climate control, red-stitched accents, panoramic sunroof, six airbags as standard, ADAS, Wireless Charging Pad, Bose 10 Speaker Sound System, and so much more.
The SUV is powered by the 2.0 L inline 4-Cylinder Naturally-Aspirated Engine that delivers 139 BHP and mated to the Nissan’s Xtronic CVT Gearbox.
