The Indian Market is soon going to see the launch of some new 7-seater cars that are either rebadged, or getting facelifted to stay and dominate the competition. So, we’re going to list the 4 upcoming 7-seater cars that are launching soon in India, and with the amount of new its going to get, it could surely dominate the particular segment entirely on its own, and here are those 4 cars –
Toyota Rumion (Expected Launch: End August – Early September 2023)
Toyota recently unveiled the Maruti Ertiga rebadged Rumion MUV that was already on sale for the South African Market, but now as decided to launch it in India as well. With the rebadging, it has increased in length in terms of dimensions giving you slightly more room and space than the Ertiga itself. The front design of the Rumion is clearly similar to the Innova HyCross like the front fascia, redesigned front bumper while the taillights remain the same. It’ll come with two powertrains – 1.5 L Petrol, and CNG Fuel Option. Other than that, it’ll come with same features like the 7-inch infotainment system with wireless Apple Carplay/Android Auto, automatic climate control, 15-inch alloy wheels, paddle shifters (only for AT), 6-speaker Arkamy’s sound system, and many more. Toyota is expected to launch the Rumion by the end of August or early September 2023.
Tata Safari Facelift (Expected Launch: October 2023)
Tata Motors just like the Harrier and Nexon facelift, Tata has been consistently testing the Safari facelift but just recently, the interior dashboard was spotted undisguised, and from what we can see, the Safari facelift will be getting the new 10.25-inch infotainment system that will be thinner, sharper and smoother than the current one, new Steptronic Gear shifter, rotary dial for the drive mode, digital display on the four-spoke steering wheel to control the new digital instrument cluster, and touch-sensitive screen on the center console for climate control.
The exterior will see Safari facelift taking design cues from the Harrier EV like the new front grille inspired from the Harrier EV and will have few additional features over the upcoming Harrier facelift. Tata is expected to launch the Safari facelift along with the Harrier Facelift in October 2023.
Kia Carens Facelift (Expected Launch: November 2023)
Kia has a rumored plan that states it’ll be launching the Carens facelift in the coming months after the launch of Seltos Facelift which happened in July 2023. Count couple of months and we’re expecting a launch date of November 2023 as the rumor mill says the Carens is going to come with ADAS which would make it in second MUV in the segment to have this feature with first being the Toyota Innova HyCross. The Carens is already a very loaded MUV with features like ventilated seats, 10.25-inch infotainment system with wireless Apple Carplay/Android Auto, digital instrument cluster, LED headlamps, 16-inch alloy wheels, 8-speaker Bose Premium Sound System, ambient lights, and many more.
To increase the list of features it currently has, Kia could introduce features like the 360-degree camera, powered seat for driver, and ADAS with features same as the Seltos facelift such as Adaptive Cruise Control, Blind Spot Monitoring System, Lane Keep Assist, Lane Departure Warning, Forward Collision Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Autonomous Emergency Braking, Auto High Beam Assist, and more. As for the cosmetic changes it’ll go from the outside, it is likely the front fascia will be change and could come with connected LED headlamps look with rest being more or less the same.
Toyota Fortuner 2024 (Expected Launch: Early 2024)
Recently, the design of the new Fortuner leaked and it showed how the front fascia of the new Fortuner will look like. It’ll sport a big front fascia that looks to be inspired from the Innova HyCross with three horizontal slats which most likely would be chrome and boasts even sharper and slim looking LED headlamps with L-shaped LED DRLs. The bumpers also seem to be HyCross-inspired as well with LED strip on the sides of the bumper that acts as an indicator. The interior could also see HyCross inspired elements and could come with 10.25-inch infotainment system and for the first time, a digital instrument cluster.
Other than that, Yoshiki Konishi, President of Toyota Daihatsu Engineering and Manufacturing, had confirmed the next generation of the Fortuner would be a hybrid powertrain. Since, the Fortuner in India is powered by the 2.8-litre turbocharged diesel engine, Toyota could pair the hybrid tech with this engine. Another upgrade it’ll have over the current Fortuner is 360-degree camera. Toyota offers reverse-parking camera for an 4.8 meters SUV which doesn’t really makes sense, but with a 360-degree camera, you get a full 360 view of the surrounding which basically helps park the SUV safely and properly.
Lastly, it’ll get Toyota’s SmartSense 3.0, which is ADAS tech with features such as Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keep Assist, Lane Departure Warning, Blind Spot Detection Warning, etc.
