Mahindra will be launching 5 models before the end of 2024 out of which 2 models are facelift updates, two are next-gen models, and one is an electric car. It’ll be interesting to see what features and improvement Mahindra will make on it’s upcoming models. Here is everything we know about these 5 upcoming Mahindra Models –
Mahindra XUV300 Facelift (Expected December 2023)
Mahindra was spotted testing the XUV300 facelift with new tailgate which is flatter and possibly connected LED light bar with the taillights. From what was seen in the spy shots, the XUV300 will remain unchanged except for the cosmetic changes, and it could get a new alloy wheel sets as well. The interiors of the XUV300 in the spy shots cannot be seen, but Mahindra could add new features in the SUV such as bigger infotainment system, ventilated seats, digital instrument cluster, and many more. The design could change due to Mahindra cutting ties with Ssangyong, Korean carmaker as the current XUV300 design is styled in line with the Ssangyong Tivoli. Mahindra could take new design cues from the XUV700, or Scorpio-N.
Mahindra XUV700 Facelift (Expected December 2023)
The XUV700 launched in 2022 and it quickly reached the 1.5 lakh bookings with many customers still waiting to get the deliveries of the current XUV700. However, Mahindra was spotted testing the XUV700 Facelift few months ago and since then, it was not seen testing. The XUV700 won’t get a major exterior change and will most likely tweaked the front design to make it look muscular and aggressive. At the rear, it is possible it could get connected LED taillights with a LED light bar in between as many carmakers are doing it these days. From the inside, very minor changes would take place like the dashboard layout could be slightly change, or new dual-tone option for the interiors, other than that, nothing, it’ll have the dual 10.25-inch displays. Mahindra could introduce new features such as ventilated seats, cooled glovebox, and additional ADAS features to stay ahead in the competition. Moreover, it could update it’s two engines, turbo diesel and turbo petrol engines to make it RDE and E20 compliant.
Mahindra 5-Door Thar (Expected Mid 2024)
While we know Mahindra is testing the 5-door Thar and will be launching it in 2024. The 5-door Thar will have lots of new features, and new interior look as well. At the front, the design of the 5-door Thar will be the same as the 3-door version, and could tweaked it slightly for an aggressive mean look. At the front, the Thar has a round headlamps with six vertical bars on the grille, the front bumper is made of hard plastic, and flat bonnet. From the side, well, it has an extra door on both sides with square windows, step-up side plate, and 18-inch alloy wheels, and a single-pane sunroof on top.
From the inside, the 3-door Thar has a 7-inch infotainment system which really looks outdated and does not blend with the dashboard design of the Thar. So, to stay updated, Mahindra could add the 8-inch infotainment system which will be the same as the one in Scorpio-N with updated UI and refreshed. In the back seats, the 3-door versions is split in 50:50 ratio and less space was there and was less comfy. However, in the 5-door Thar, it will have more room in the back to give better space and comfort as the seats will be split in 60:40 ratio.
When it comes to features, the 3-door Thar has 7-inch infotainment system, wired Android Auto/Apple CarPlay, 6-speaker sound system, height adjustable driver seat, fabric seats upholstery, two airbags, 18-inch alloy wheels, reverse-parking camera with rear sensors, hill assist, hill descent control, traction control, and Front Disc Brakes. However, the 5-door version will lot of new and better features such as 8-inch infotainment system, Limited Slip Differential, Semi-Digital instrument cluster which could be same as the one in Scorpio-N, six airbags, Disc Brakes for all 4 wheels, 18-inch alloy wheels, LED headlamps, single-pane sunroof, and many more.
Mahindra Bolero Neo Plus (Expected September 2023)
Mahindra is working on the new Bolero Neo Plus for quite some time now. You may have already seen the leak images of the car on the internet, how it’s going to look, and what engines are going to power the Neo Plus. But recently, an Type Approval Certificate got leaked, that had technical information of the car. The Bolero Neo Plus will come with a 2.2-litre diesel engine that produces 118.35 bhp which is 11.83 bhp less than the Thar and Scorpio Classic. The Bolero Neo Plus in economy mode will get it’s power reduced to 92.71 bhp. It’ll be available in 7 variants – P4, P4 7-str, P10, P10 (R), P10 7-str, P10 (R) 7-str, and an Ambulance variant P4 with Stretcher. The Bolero Neo Plus will continue to be a rear-wheel-drive and it’ll an affordable version of the Scorpio Classic. The Bolero Neo Plus is expected to launch later this year, possibly in September 2023.
Mahindra XUV700 Electric (Expected in 2024)
Last year, Mahindra had showcased five electric models that it’s working on launching in India. The XUV700 electric was spotted testing the pre-production model in India, and has seen from the spy shots, it retains many of the XUV700 design elements. However, we expect the production to have the huge C-shaped LED DRLs, front and rear bumper redesigned, closed front grille, new alloy wheels, and few tweaks on the body. The XUV700 was spotted in bronze paint shade which is unlike the blue color accents they had used to highlight electric on XUV400. The XUV700 is based on the INGLO platform which is developed in cooperation with the Volkswagen, and is expected to pack in battery pack of 60 – 80 kWh with 250 kWh charging support and expected claimed range somewhere between 500 – 600 km. It is expected before the end of 2024, so hopefully we’ll learn something more it in coming months.
