Hyundai Venue vs Hyundai i20 – Exterior and Interior

The Hyundai Venue ever since it got facelift update in 2022, the talking point has been the front face. The front has parametric front grille made up of rectangular block with brown-chrome finish and is slightly dark as well. The fog lamps are out and now the Venue has LED headlamps instead of halogen. At the side, it has wheel arches with chrome door handles, and roof rails at the top. Moving to the rear, it has LED taillamps connected by light bar with faux silver skid plate at the rear and the front and it rides on 16-inch alloy wheels.

As you can see at the front of the Hyundai i20, it has blacked out front grille with rectangular block design and sleek LED headlamps with LED DRLs inside the headlamps and the bumpers finished in black as well. Moving to the side, it creases to give it a sportier look with 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels and chrome line running through the window frame. At the rear, it has Z-shaped LED taillamps with a chrome line joining the taillamps and shark fin antenna at the top.

From the inside, the Venue has 8-inch infotainment system between the two AC vents and at the edges semi-square shaped AC vents. The Venue does have the option for dual-tone dashboard. It has multi-function four-spoke steering wheel with digital instrument cluster, and a single-pane sunroof. Below the gear lever is a rotary dial to select drive modes. It has two USB ports at the front and two at the rear. The rear seats of the Hyundai Venue is 60:40 split with recline option as well.

As for the i20, it has 10.25-inch infotainment system placed above the AC vents and the AC vents are designed like the dashboard design to give it that seamless look. The Infotainment system is integrated with the digital instrument cluster and has the four-spoke multi-function steering wheel. It also has the dual-tone dashboard theme option as well. It has sliding armrest with air purifier. It has two USB ports at the front and the rear. The rear seats are split in 60:40 ratio.

When it comes to engine options, the Venue is powered by the 1.2-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine that puts out 82 bhp and 114 Nm of torque. It drives the front wheels via a 5-speed Manual Gearbox only with a fuel efficiency of 18 km/l. It has no Automatic Gearbox and no diesel engine on offer. As for the i20, it is powered by 1.2-litre Kappa petrol engine that produces 81.80 bhp and 114.74 Nm of torque paired to a 5-speed Manual Transmission with a fuel efficiency of 21 km/l and an IVT Transmission with fuel efficiency of 19.65 km/l.

The Venue and i20 not only has non-turbo powertrains but also has turbo engines. The Venue has one turbo petrol and one turbo diesel engines while i20 has one turbo petrol engine. But first, the Venue, it has the 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine that pumps out 120 bhp and 172 Nm mated to a 6-speed iMT and 7-speed DCT Gearbox. Then there is the 1.5-litre turbo diesel engine that puts out 114 bhp and 250 Nm of torque and that has a 6-speed Manual Gearbox only with a fuel efficiency of 20 km/l. It has no Automatic Gearbox on offer. The i20 has the 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine which produces 118.41 bhp and 171.62 Nm of torque paired to a 7-speed DCT Transmission and no Manual Transmission on offer. When it comes to features, both the SUV and hatchback are very much feature-loaded, and misses out on nothing. The i20 however is better as it has 7-speaker Bose Premium sound system where as the Venue has 6-speaker standard sound system. The Venue has 8-inch infotainment system where as the i20 has 10.25-inch infotainment system. So, i20 is better than the Venue and has a point over the Venue.
