Mahindra is working on the next generation of the Bolero, and it’ll be built on a entirely new platform, U171 ICE Platform. The current Bolero line-up which has many models including the pick-up trucks, Mahindra is looking to expand it even further with the next-gen Bolero.
2026 New Mahindra Bolero: What You Need to Know!
Mahindra’s focus with the upcoming 2026 Bolero remains on catering numerous categories of buyers with primary emphasis on tier-2 cities. The new line-up is expected to kick-off with a 5-Seater version which is likely to be an sub 4-Meter SUV. The SUV is positioned to serve as a successor not only to the current Bolero but also as a replacement for the Bolero Neo whose sales isn’t what Mahindra was expecting to be, an slow-selling SUV.
Furthermore, Mahindra will also introduce a 3-row version of the Bolero, and at this moment, the details are scarce on whether the 3-row version will be a sub 4-Meter SUV, or longer than that. Like the Scorpio-N, Mahindra is likely to do the same with the new Bolero by equipping it with a front facing third row. This decision was made as a commitment to passenger’s safety, and at the same time meet the criteria for a higher Bharat NCAP crash test rating.
Mahindra is planning to introduce a longer XL version of the Bolero. This XL iteration is specifically designed to compete with models like the Force Citiline, featuring four front-facing rows of seats and a seating capacity for nine passengers. Moreover, Mahindra plans to optimize some of the wheelbase options from the next-gen Bolero for use in its pickup range. This strategic move not only enhances economies of scale but also contributes to maintaining competitive pricing in the market. Mahindra’s multifaceted approach aims to address the diverse needs of buyers in different segments, reinforcing its commitment to providing versatile and value-driven vehicle options.
Other than this, Mahindra currently has their hands full with the Thar 5-Door, and the XUV300 Facelift, and both of them are expected to launch in the first half of 2024.
