Skoda is reintroducing a sedan model in India after discontinuation due to BS6 Phase II emissions standards, now confirmed for launch on April 3, 2024, initially with the previous generation, while the fourth-gen is anticipated in 2025, featuring advanced technology and imported as a CBU.

Skoda is gearing up for the reintroduction of one of its sedan models in the Indian market. The upcoming launch of the Skoda Superb is scheduled for April 3, 2024. Discontinued after the enforcement of the BS6 Phase II emissions standards in India on April 1, 2023; but now the sedan is making a comeback. Globally, Skoda unveiled the fourth-generation Superb in November last year. However, in India, the Skoda plans to reintroduce the previous generation model initially, with the fourth-gen Superb expected to debut in 2025.

Skoda intends to import the Superb as a Completely Built Unit (CBU) without requiring homologation under the government’s GSR 870 rule. This regulation permits manufacturers to import up to 2,500 units annually. The sedan is anticipated to be available in a single top-tier variant, the Laurin and Klement trim, equipped with additional features.

Previously, the Skoda Superb was offered in India at prices ranging from Rs 34.19 – 37.29 Lakh. However, due to it now being a full import, the sedan will obviously become pricier, with expected starting price of around Rs 43 Lakh.

Under the hood, the Skoda Superb will house a BS6 Phase II compliant 2.0 Litre, Four-Cylinder Turbo-Petrol Engine generating 187.40 BHP and 320 NM of torque. It’s paired with a 7 Speed DSG Automatic Gearbox, and it’s capable of acceleration from 0 to 100 KMPH in 7.8 Seconds.

The Superb was equipped plethora of features such as ADAS, Skoda’s 11 Speakers Sound System, 8 Airbags, 360 Surround View Camera, Front Heated and Ventilated Seats, 12-way adjustable powered Seats with Lumbar Support, and so much more.
