Mahindra’s upcoming off-road SUV, Thar 5 Door, interiors has been leaked ahead of its launch next year, and it reveals some interesting details that we’ll be sharing with you in this article.
The Thar 5 Door is expected to launch in the first half of 2024, but now a new image has surfaced which reveals the dashboard of the SUV. A Youtuber, Daniel Snare was visiting the Mahindra Research Valley (MRV) in his video shows us a clip of the dashboard and linked body parts undergoing vibration tests. This is important as these tests will help them determine if the components will fail under actual road conditions or not.

The dashboard is easy to identify because of its resemblance with the 3 Door version Thar like round AC vents, grab handle for the co-passenger, centre console, and so on. What’s new here is that the 5 Door version will get dual-tone brown and black treatment for the dashboard which will likely extend all over the cabin including the seat upholstery, unlike the full-black treatment for interiors in 3 Door Thar. However, it’s possible that more option will be made available by Mahindra on launch day.The empty infotainment space at the center of the dashboard appears to be bigger to accommodate the new 10.25-inch infotainment system. This new infotainment system will get new UI similar to the Scorpio-N and XUV700. Moreover, it is possible we could get a Semi-Digital Instrument Cluster, similar to the Scorpio-N. The Thar 5 Door gets single-pane sunroof instead of removable roof, armrest for the driver and co-passenger.Moving on, it looks like the 5 Door Thar will have close resemblance to the 3 Door version and to ensure that there is no confusion, little cosmetic changes will be done. In Engine Options, it’ll get the 2.0 L Turbo Petrol, and the 2.2 L Diesel Engine with 6 Speed Manual and Automatic Gearbox choices. Mahindra is expected to price the Thar 5 Door from Rs. 15 Lakhs, and that more official information shall be made available soon in 2024.
