Just like the concept seen at the Auto Expo held in January 2023, it retains almost all the design bits like closed front grille with four horizontal thinner lines, faux skid plates both front and rear, connected LED DRLs, vertically-split LED Projector Headlamps, Radar for ADAS at the air intake on the lower bumper. The side profile is the same as ICE version except it features new 19-inch alloy wheels which looks similar to the Nexon EV but with subtle design tweak differentiates the two EVs from each other.
It had EV badging at the bottom of front doors, and piano black finished roof on top with non-functional roof rails which is also finished in piano black. The rear section is also the same as ICE version like the S-shape connected LED Tail-lamps, carbon black bumper, C-Protrusions which houses the reverse parking light. Additionally, the paint shade we’re seeing in the above image is called “Seaweed” which was seen on the Punch EV.
We didn’t get to see the interiors of the EV, but it’s going to look the same as the ICE Harrier, like the 12.3-inch Infotainment System at the center of the dashboard, touch-sensitive control panel below for the HVAC, 4-spoke steering wheel with Tata logo illumination and behind it will be the 10.25-inch Digital Cockpit Cluster. The centre console features jewelled rotary dial for drive shift, rotary dial for drive modes and terrain modes, electric parking brake in front of big fat centre console, and cupholders in front of it.
Technical Specs hasn’t been revealed yet, but it’ll likely measure 4.6 Meter in length with 2741 MM Wheelbase, etc. Moreover, since the Harrier EV is built on the Acti.ev architecture, it’s likely it’ll sport 50 – 55 kWh battery pack with a single motor mounted on front axle enables front wheel drive (FWD), and dual-motors mounted on both front and rear axles enables All-Wheel-Drive (AWD) for the EV.
As Tata has already said, the version seen here at the BME 2024 is production-ready, but testing still continues for the EV for late 2024 launch. The Harrier EV is expected to be priced from Rs. 25 Lakhs for the entry-level trim and go all the way up to Rs. 30 Lakhs for the top trims. More details on the EV will be made available soon by Tata in the coming weeks.
