Maruti is developing an all-new Triber-rivalling 7-Seater MPV which will be positioned below the Ertiga in their MPV Portfolio. Let’s list down all the available information about this new Maruti car!
Maruti’s New Triber-rivalling MPV: All Details!
A new entry-level MPV is in development which is expected to be priced from Rs. 6 Lakhs to take on it’s only rival, the Renault Triber. Internally, Maruti has codenamed the affordable MPV as “YDB.” This new entry-level MPV is based on the Suzuki Spacia and will be longer in dimensions, likely to be a sub 4-meter model. The highlight of the Spacia is that it gets sliding doors in the second-row, but its likely, Maruti will omit this feature to keep the pricing as low as possible.

However, it is possible Maruti may eventually use the sliding door function for its YDB MPV by using the cost-effective sliding door mechanism from the Eeco. Moreover, it’ll have a tall stance profile to offer more headroom and interior space. Moving to the interior part, we expect it to look the same as the current Maruti models like the Fronx, Baleno, Brezza, and the recently launched new Swift.

The YDB MPV is still in the initial stages of development, and before this, Maruti will be launching the 7-Seater SUV based on Grand Vitara, and their first-ever electric SUV, eVX.
