Hyundai Motors has been testing the Creta EV extensively, and it is set to launch in India soon, aiming to compete with the upcoming Tata Curvv EV.
Hyundai has been rigorously testing the Creta EV in India for several months, with spy shots revealing various changes that distinguish the EV version from its ICE counterpart.

Exterior
The Hyundai Creta EV maintains much of the design elements from the ICE Creta Facelift, with some key updates to set it apart. The front features a closed-off grille, redesigned bumpers, and LED positioning lamps, along with DRLs and sequential turn indicators. The front hood is now more upright, giving it a bold stance. The side profile remains largely similar but now includes new aero-efficient 17-inch alloy wheels. At the rear, the Creta EV sports connected LED tail-lamps, sequential turn indicators, and an aerodynamic spoiler for a sleek finish.
Interior
Inside, the Creta EV impresses with a seamless integration of dual 10.25-inch displays for the digital cluster and infotainment system. The steering wheel, inspired by the latest Kona electric SUV, features Hyundai’s new logo for electric vehicles. A notable change is the drive selector, which has been moved to the steering column from the center console. Other interior elements remain consistent with the ICE version, ensuring a familiar yet modern feel.

The Creta EV is powered by a 45 kWh battery pack from LG Chem, targeting range between 450 – 500 KM. However, real-world conditions may yield a practical range of 250 – 300 km. The SUV is equipped with a regenerative braking system and fast-charging capabilities akin to the Hyundai IONIQ 5, allowing it to charge from 10–80% in just 21 minutes with an ultra-fast charger.
Features
Feature-wise, the Creta EV is packed with modern amenities to enhance comfort and safety. It includes front ventilated seats, a 360 Surround View Camera, Level 2 ADAS, a powered driver seat, dual-zone climate control, front and rear parking sensors, a panoramic sunroof, Electric Parking Brake with Auto Hold, Bose Sound System, and Hill Descent Control. Additionally, heated front seats are expected to be a new addition, providing extra comfort in colder climates.
Price and Launch
The Hyundai Creta EV is expected to be priced between Rs. 20 – Rs. 25 lakhs. It is slated for January 2025 Launch and will compete with the likes of the MG ZS EV and the upcoming Tata Curvv EV. Other new competitors, such as the Maruti eVX and Toyota Urban EV, are also expected to enter the market around the same time, making the compact electric SUV segment more exciting and competitive.
