Kia is set to expand it’s line-up in India with the launch of three new 7-seater vehicles in the coming months. This exciting range includes two MPVs and an electric SUV catering to diverse family needs and preferences.

Kia Carnival Facelift
[Launch: October 3rd, 2024]
The 2024 Kia Carnival Facelift has been spotted testing with significant updates. The new design features an upright front nose, wide grille with chrome accents, L-shaped LED DRLs, and a vertically-positioned LED headlamp setup. The rear includes L-shaped tail-lamps connected by an LED light bar and a mixed-material rear bumper.
Inside, the MPV will resemble the global model with dual 12.3-inch displays, reworked HVAC controls, rotary drive selector, and optional 14.6-inch rear entertainment screen. Other features include ventilated and heated seats, dual sunroof, KRELL sound system, and various safety systems like 8 airbags and ADAS.
The facelift Carnival is expected to retain the diesel engine it used before discontinuing the MPV, and it’ll likely meet BS6 norms.

- 197.2 BHP and 440 NM
- 8 Speed Automatic Transmission
Along with EV9, the Carnival will be initially available as a CBU, so expect a Rs. 50 Lakh starting price.
Kia EV9
[Launch: October 3rd, 2024]
The Kia EV9 is a 5.01-meter electric SUV with a 3.1-meter wheelbase, offering up to 541 kilometers of range. It’s built on the E-GMP platform and gets two battery packs:
- Standard: 76.1 kWh battery, rear-wheel-drive, 214.5 BHP, 350 NM, 354 km range, 0-100 km/h in 8.2 seconds, top speed 185 km/h.
- Long-Range: 99.8 kWh battery with RWD (201 BHP, 350 NM, 0-100 km/h in 9.4 seconds) or AWD (380 BHP, 600 NM, 0-100 km/h in 5.3 seconds, top speed 200 km/h).
Features include Level 3 ADAS, LED headlamps, Remote Parking Assist, Digital Mirrors, 14-speaker Meridian sound system, Dual Sunroofs, Heads-up Display, 2nd Row Swivel Seats (6-seater), 3-zone Climate Control, Dual 12.3-inch displays, Power Tailgate, and a 360 Surround View Camera. In India, the EV9 will be a limited CBU import, with around 2500 units expected and a price around Rs. 1 Crore, competing primarily with the BMW iX.
Kia Carens Facelift
[Expected Launch: ICE- H1 2025; EV – H2 2025]
Kia has been testing the Carens in India, revealing some design details despite the camouflage. The Carens features alloy wheels similar to the upcoming Kia EV5, with a 5-spoke design for both the EV and ICE versions. The front has L-shaped LED DRLs, a thin LED light bar, and LED projectors, while the rear includes C-shaped connected LED tail-lamps and revised bumpers.
Interior features are expected to resemble the Seltos, including a 10.25-inch infotainment system, a 10.25-inch digital cluster, updated controls, and an electric parking brake. Both the EV and ICE versions are likely to offer 6 and 7-seater options, a panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, and new upholstery.

- EV: 45-50 kWh battery pack, 450-500 km Range
- ICE:
- 1.5 L Turbo Petrol: 158 BHP, 253 NM, 6-speed iMT/7-speed DCT
- 1.5 L Diesel: 114 BHP, 250 NM, 6-speed MT/iMT/AT
- 1.5 L NA Petrol: 113 BHP, 144 NM, 6-speed MT/7-speed IVT
The ICE Carens facelift is expected to launch in Q4 2024, with the EV version arriving in the second half of 2025.
