Kia’s Upcoming SUV which will debut on December 19th won’t be getting the naturally-aspirated Petrol engine!
Kia will be debuting the Syros SUV on December 19th with launch likely during the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025 week. Now, it’s being reported that the SUV will only with two engine options missing out on the 1.2 L naturally-aspirated Petrol engine.
What are the 2 Engine Options?
The Kia Syros upon it’s launch will get only 2 Engine Options –
- 1.0 L 3 Cylinder Turbo Petrol Engine – 118 BHP, 172 NM Torque – 6 Speed MT, 7 Speed DCT
- 1.5 L 4 Cylinder Diesel Engine – 114 BHP, 250 NM Torque – 6 Speed MT / AT
The reason for the no 1.2 L NA Petrol engine could be to keep it as a premium SUV over the Sonet SUV since it’ll be positioned higher. Additionally, the Syros will be fifth model from Kia to be offered with an diesel powertrain in India.

The Syros showcases a bold, boxy design that echoes elements from Kia’s broader lineup, such as the tiger-nose grille and vertically stacked LED headlights with striking LED DRLs. Its silhouette is designed for a strong road presence, complemented by sleek LED tail lamps. A distinctive feature includes a window line with a sharp kink towards the rear, reminiscent of the Skoda Yeti, enhancing both style and practicality.
Inside, the Syros promises a premium feel with a panoramic sunroof, which not only adds to the cabin’s luxury but also elevates the overall driving experience. The interior is expected to feature a dual-tone theme, a large 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a fully digital instrument cluster, wireless charging, and ventilated front seats. Kia Syros will be equipped with Level 2 ADAS with functions like adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, and collision avoidance systems, all hinted at by cameras mounted on the windshield. Safety is further bolstered with six airbags, parking sensors, a 360-degree camera, and hill-hold assist expected to be standard in higher variants. Other features include front ventilated seats, panoramic sunroof, powered driver seat, dual 10.25-inch Displays – Infotainment and Digital Driver’s Display, and so on
With its blend of affordability, premium features, and advanced technology, the Syros is set to appeal to a broad spectrum of buyers, from first-time SUV owners to those upgrading from smaller vehicles. This launch will likely take place at the Bharat Mobility Expo in Jan 2025 with deliveries beginning near the end of the month. As for price, we now expect the starting price to be Rs. 10 Lakhs!
