Tata Harrier, the most anticipated SUV of 2019 is going to be launched in India on January 23, 2019.Tata Motors India has released a number of teasers of Harrier going through different tough terrains and also giving a glance at it’s premium features.
Tata Harrier will be based on rigid OMEGA platform which is derived from Land Rover D8 Architecture.Harrier carries the Impact 2.0 Design Philosophy which brings futuristic technology, stylish exterior design and intelligently designed plush interiors together.

Tata Harrier is only offered with a single powertrain.Tata calls this as the KRYOTEC engine.The 2.0-litre unit is a fiat sourced which is also shared with it’s rival Jeep Compass with figures of 140 PS @ 3750 RPM with a torque of 350 NM @ 1750-2500 RPM.This motor has a BS-IV compliant engine with 4 inline cylinders and is paired to a 6-speed manual gearbox.A 1.4-litre engine and diesel AT and 4×4 is expected to be introduced in later half of 2019.
In terms of dimensions, the length of the SUV is 4598 mm, width of 1898 mm and is 1706 mm tall.The wheelbase of the Tata SUV is 2741 mm.Ground clearance and bootspace are 205 mm and 425 Litres respectively with the cargo area extending upto 810 litres if second row seats are folded down.

Harrier XE EXTERIOR
Harrier base model gets projector headlamps, dual function bulb with turn indicators but doesn’t get those stylish LED DRLs.Tyre size is 235/70 R16 steel wheels.Protective side cladding starts from the basic trim with a floating roof design that comes in a black finish with Harrier badging.At the rear are the stylish 3D LED tail lamps with sporty black finish.
Harrier XE INTERIOR
XE model sports Elegant black interior colour them with aero throttle styled piano black parking brake.But this one is different from that seen on the Marazzo that brings in aircraft inspired parking brake.The instrument cluster is a 4-inch LED display with multiple information.
Harrier XE COMFORT Features
Harrier base model brings Manual A/C system and Rear A/C vents also starts from the XE model.Theatre dimming cabin lamps are provided along with front and rear puddle lamps.Front and rear seat headrest are adjustable and the driver side seat gets a 4 way adjustment.Steering wheel column is tilt and telescopic adjustable and also gets electric tailgate release.All four power windows are offered in the XE variant.Sunglass holder is provided in XE and also umbrella holder at the driver seat door pads.

Although a total of 5 colours are offered in Harrier but the SUV’s base model is offered in only Orcus White colour.The expected on-road price of Harrier XE is Rs. 16 Lakhs.

Harrier XM EXTERIOR
If we compare the exterior features of base model XE and XM, then no addition on the exterior front can be seen.Major features add-on from XE model are seen inside the cabin.
Harrier XM INTERIOR
Harrier Base model brings elegant black interiors whereas XM trim has got premium black upholstery.Rear parcel shelf is offered for keeping some light stuff.Door pads as well as dashboard are treated with chrome accents.Steering Wheel gets certain controls.A/C vents are made more premium with satin chrome liner.
Harrier XM INFOTAINMENT
Harrier XM features 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with sharp display resolution.4 speakers along with 2 tweeters are in this trim.Volume controls adjust according to the speed of the SUV.The infotainment system also supports USB / AUX in / BT Audio playback.Like any other Tata car, Multi-drive modes are offered for Harrier.Three drive modes including Eco, City and Sport starts from the XM model.
Harrier XM SAFETY
The difference between XE and XM model is also seen in terms of safety and security equipments on offer.XM gets front fog lamps, remote central locking and follow me home headlamps.Parking sensors are displayed on the infotainment unit.At the rear, wiper and washer are placed.
Harrier XM COMFORT
Driver side seat is 6 way adjustable instead of 4-way adjustment of XE trim.It also gets a boot lamp which is quite helpful plus the outside rear view mirrors are electrically adjustable.

Harrier XM will be available in four colours while it doesn’t offer the calisto copper paint.The expected on-road price of Harrier XM model is Rs. 17.70 Lakhs.

Harrier XT EXTERIOR
Harrier XT model gets a number of features similar to those offered in XZ model.On the exterior front, the dual function bulb is replaced by Dual Function LED DRLs which comes with turn indicators.The 16-inch steel wheels now become 17-inch alloys.ORVMs are dual coloured which has turn indicators as well.Chrome accents can be seen on outside door handles.ORVMs in this model gets electrically foldable functionality.
Harrier XT INTERIOR
XT cabin has got Regal Black Interior theme.Premium oak wood finish is seen on the soft touch dashboard which comes along with anti-reflective Nappa grain top layer.Inside door handles are painted in Satin Chrome along with chrome liner on the console.
Harrier XT INFOTAINMENT
The screen size of infotainment unit remains the same for this model.In harrier XT trim, the system supports Video playback and view images through USB, Voice recognition and SMS readout, Android auto and apple CarPlay and gives Voice alerts for driver assistance.Rear Tweeters are an addition from XM model.ConnectNext App Suite (Driving behavior analysis through DrivePro, TATA Smart Remote, TATA Smart Manual) makes way in Harrier from this model.

Safety equipments offered in XT from XM model includes only Rear Defogger and Reverse parking camera which is displayed on the touchscreen system.No major upgrades in safety features are seen from XM to XT variant.

In Harrier XT model, Manual A/C is replaced by Fully Automatic Temperature Control with HVAC.Rear armrest for the convenience of the rear passengers is offered with cupholders.Other prominent comfort and convenience features includes Push start/stop button, auto headlamps, rain sensing auto wipers, cruise controls, cooled glovebox along with 8-way adjustable driver side seat.
