Upcoming Maruti Cars in India 2019

Here is a complete list of Upcoming Maruti cars in India in 2019.Maruti Suzuki is expected to introduce new cars in every segment including small hatchbacks, SUVs, premium sedans and premium hatchbacks.The month January 2019 will witness two new Maruti car launches with others slated for launch afterwards.

1. Maruti Suzuki WagonR 

New Maruti Suzuki WagonR will kick-off the year 2019 for Maruti Suzuki India Limited.This will be the 6th generation WagonR which will come with major design updates and a variety of engines.New WagonR will still continue with tall boy design and will be based on the same body structure with tweaks to meet the new stricter safety regulations.Tweaks to the bonnet, front headlamps, and grille have been made and the fog lamp housing is on the angular side.Side section of the hatchback is quite similar to the outgoing model.Rear witnesses shifting up of tail lamps quite a bit with large rear bumpers.

With an increase in length and wheelbase, the space on the inside has increased.Steering wheel is flat bottomed with certain controls as well.Dashboard houses 7-inch infotainment system with host of connectivity options.Practical storage areas are seen both at front and rear in the form of small chubby holes and charging sockets for each row.Seats grows in size a bit and with an increase in the dimensions of WagonR, boot space of the car has also grown in size as well.New WagonR will be great combination of premium cabin and top-notch features.

Standard equipments list includes ABS, Dual Airbags, Speed Sensing Auto Door Locks, Reverse Parking Sensors, High Speed Alert System.Top-spec trim will be loaded up to the brim with features in terms of safety and security including Reverse Parking Camera, Rear Defogger, Front Fog lamps and keyless entry among others.7-inch touchscreen system, steering mounted bluetooth and telephony controls, projector headlamps, electrically adjustable outside rear view mirror, height adjustable driver seat will make the top-spec most value for money.

New WagonR will be offered in a total of three variants – LXI, VXI and ZXI.All these trims will launch with both petrol and CNG with the option of manual and automatic transmission.WagonR will also be made available in LPG also.ZXI model will attain power through 1.2-litre K-Series motor which also forms duties in Swift, Baleno, Dzire and Ignis as well.Other unit will be the same 1.0-litre petrol one which will be tuned for better performance and fuel efficiency. Price of the hatchback is expected to be between Rs. 4.2 Lakhs and Rs. 5.5 Lakhs.New WagonR is launching in India on 23rd January 2019 and will rival Tata Tiago, Renault Kwid, New Santro.

2. Maruti Suzuki Baleno Facelift

Maruti Suzuki Baleno has been in Indian market for more than three and half years and is still doing quite well.Since 2015, no major update has been brought up by Maruti Suzuki India Limited in it’s highest selling model, Baleno.Premium features and high fuel efficiency have made Baleno fastest to cross 3 Lakh sales milestone.As the BS-VI kicks in April 2019, new stricter safety rules and regulations will be introduced and already the car makers are preparing for it.

Coming back to Baleno Facelift which is set to be launched in the first half of 2019 will sport certain design updates to front and rear bumpers as well as tweaks to the headlamp unit as well.New alloys for top-spec trim and new colours for Baleno will be some changes.Dual tone colour scheme is also expected to be introduced for some variants as well.Other than this, shark Finn antenna will be seen on the Baleno Facelift.Moving to the cabin, one major missing feature was leather seats which will be offered in the tops-spec trim of Baleno Facelift.No changes in dimensions will be made as this is just a facelift model.

Mechanical changes will not there.It will continue to be powered by the same set of petrol and Diesel engine with power deriving from 5-speed manual gearbox.CVT is on offer for petrol variant.Maruti is likely to introduce automatic transmission to diesel lineup as well.Price of the premium hatchback will increase by Rs. 30,000 and will continue to rival Hyundai Elite i20 with a new rival launching in the form of Tata 45X in August 2019. 

3. S-Cross Facelift

In this list of Upcoming Maruti cars in India in 2019, the third new car is the S-Cross facelift.S-Cross was launched by Maruti Suzuki as a crossover in the price bracket of Rs. 8 Lakhs to Rs. 12 Lakhs with only two diesel engines – 1.3-litre and bigger 1.6-litre diesel units.But the crossover didn’t get that much response as a result of which Maruti introduced facelift version of S-Cross with only 1.3L DDiS hybrid unit, which is the present model.S-Cross facelift got some premium features which attracted a lot of customers but still there was a lot of demand for the petrol version of S-Cross as well.

New Maruti S-Cross is expected to be launched in India in the later half of 2019 with completely new exterior design with new BS-VI compliant engines as well.Petrol engine will be the 1.5-litre unit which made its debut in Ciaz facelift and also powers the Ertiga.It will be offered with both manual as well as automatic transmission.Diesel engine will be a new 1.5-litre unit which will be only limited to Brezza Facelift 2019, New S-Cross, New Ertiga as well as Ciaz Facelift and other premium Maruti cars as when the BS-VI kicks in the price difference between petrol and diesel models will be as high as 2.5 Lakhs so Maruti Suzuki wants to limits Diesel engine to only its big cars and might not be on offer for it’s small cars.

4. Brezza Facelift

Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza has been ruling the sub-compact SUV segment since 2016.A minor update for Brezza was launched in terms of introduction of AMT and new colour schemes as well as some new features add-on.With only one single engine on offer, it is averaging at nearly 14,000 units per month.But the customers have been waiting for petrol Brezza for a long time as of now.You may be thinking when the petrol Brezza will be launched in India.Maruti Suzuki will bring petrol engine in Brezza surely but in the form of Brezza facelift.

Maruti Zen which was launched lot of years as a small hatchback, is ready to enter its new avatar in 2019.Codenamed as Y1K and based on Future S concept, Maruti Zen 2019 will be rivalling the likes of highly successful Renault Kwid.New Zen 2019 will be offered with a 660 cc engine which will be BS-VI compliant unit churning out 51 PS of power and 63 NM of torque which makes it as powerful as 800 cc car.Mileage of the New Zen 2019 will exceeds figures of 35 kmpl.A 0.8-litre engine which will also form duties in New Alto will also power the Future S Concept.

Large front and rear bumpers, front and rear skid plates and sleek front headlamps and tail lights are exterior highlights of the car.The cabin will be dual tone with steering mounted controls, infotainment system and informative DIS.A number of interior elements will draw inspiration from Dzire and Ertiga.Zen will be priced between Rs. 2.5 Lakhs and Rs. 4 Lakhs and will make way to India in September 2019.It will include ABS with Dual Airbags, High Speed Alert System and Reverse Parking Sensors as standard equipments.Interior of the New Zen will draw inspiration from Dzire and New Ertiga.The direct rival to Maruti Zen 2019 will be Renault Kwid. 

6. Maruti Jimny

Maruti Suzuki Jimny has been in the international market for a long time and is enjoying quite good response.Maruti is considering to bring Jimny in India.When launched, it will sit between Maruti Suzuki Gypsy and Maruti Suzuki Vitara.It will be powered by 1.3-litre Diesel engine which makes 220 NM of peak torque.A 5-speed manual and automatic gearbox will be on offer.Top variant of Jimny 2019 will get ABS with EBD, Hill Start Asisst, Reverse Parking Camera, Dual AIrbags,Rear Demister, and Cruise Controls.

Jimny 2019 will be launched in India in September 2019 and will be competing with TUV300 and Ford Ecosport.Price of 2019 Maruti Jimny is expected to be somewhere between Rs. 7 Lakhs and Rs. 9 Lakhs.The exterior of the Jimny SUV will be bold and rugged thanks to aggressive styling which is further supported by plastic cladding, big wheel arches and big stance.The rear look of the SUV is further supported by mounted wheel which retains the SUV-ish looks of Jimny.Interior of the SUV will have great fit and finish and will give the driver a commanding position.It will offer great space inside the cabin with highly supportive seats.Steering wheel will be flat bottomed with controls for infotainment system.0-100 kmph is about 12-13 seconds while the fuel efficiency will be around 14-15 kmpl.

6. Maruti WagonR EV

Now as we have entered 2019, all automakers are gearing up to bring clean fuels and Maruti is no behind.Recently, 50 WagonR EV have been flagged off and they can be seen testing on the Indian roads.To give distinctive identity, WagonR EV although be based on tall boy design but the exterior of WagonR EV stands out from standard WagonR and 7-seater WagonR.New WagonR Electric India launch is expected is in November 2018 and will directly rival KUV100 NXT EV and Tata Tiago EV whose launch will take place also in second half of 2019.

WagonR EV will be based on the top-spec ZXi trim of New WagonR and will also boast the same features offered on the top-loaded trim of WagonR.It will be made available in two variants – short and long range, that is, 150 km and 200 km range.It will be mated to electric motor with a power output of 50 Kw.The charging period of WagonR EV is one and half hour on a quick charge.Maruti will first introduce WagonR EV in India first and then will focus on full hybrids as well for its small cars including Swift, Dzire and with partnership with Toyota, will work on Maruti Badged Corolla.Price of the WagonR EV will start from Rs. 8 Lakhs.

7. Maruti Suzuki Ertiga CNG

Maruti Suzuki Ertiga 2018 which is a new-generation of Maruti’s top selling MPV is receiving quite a good response.It crossed 40,000 bookings within 1 month and is still receiving 800-1000 orders per month.Ertiga was launched in launched on November 21, 2018 with 1.5-litre petrol and old tried and tested 1.3-litre DDiS diesel unit.New Ertiga looks quite promising in terms of overall design plus it offers some amazing features right from the basic variant.

Maruti Suzuki will also introduce CNG for Ertiga in mid-2019.CNG will be coupled with petrol hybrid technology on new Ertiga.The mileage of petrol Ertiga that is 22.8 kmpl is expected to be increased by a slight margin due to CNG.Price of Ertiga CNG is expected to be somewhere between Rs. 8.6 Lakhs and Rs. 9.5 Lakhs.We expect that CNG variant will further boost up the sales of Maruti Suzuki India Limited and help to strengthen it’s position in the MPV market.

8. WagonR 7-seater

Maruti Suzuki WagonR 7-seater is one of the most talked car.It has been spied testing without camouflage a number of times in Delhi NCR.However, some time back there were some rumours that 7-seater WagonR will not launch in India.Our sources have confirmed that 7-seater WagonR will be launched in India.WagonR 7-seater will be introduced in India in Q3 of 2019 and will take on the likes of upcoming Renault RBC MPV and Datsun Go Plus.Price of WagonR 7-seater is expected to start from Rs. 4.5 Lakhs.

WagonR 7-seater will be powered by 1.2-litre VVT petrol unit with both manual and AMT on offer.The Diesel engine will be the 1.3-litre unit which will be paired to only 5-speed manual gearbox.Mileage of the MPV will be more than 20 kmpl.It will be under 4-metre in length and will come in only 7-seating configuration.

It is important to note that the New WagonR 2019 which will be launched in January will not be similar to 7-seater version of WagonR in terms of exterior design.Bold and striking exterior, tall boy design will be some of the key elements of WagonR 7-seater.Sharp cuts ad creases will be seen on the sides and the large mirror area will make this MPV roomy.

Maruti WagonR 7-seater will be a key vehicle for Maruti in India as it would the target the Rs. 4.5 Lakhs to Rs. 6 Lakhs price segment and with a MPV.Maruti 7-seater WagonR will surely eat the sales of most of the cars which lies in this price bracket.

9. New Alto 2019

As we all now that the the legendary Maruti Alto 800 has been discontinued, Maruti Suzuki will introduce New Alto 2019 within a few months of time.Alto has ruled the small car segment for so many years and is will surely lead the segment once again but now in it’s new avatar.With completely new exteriors and premium cabin, Maruti Alto will be offered with 800 cc and 1000 cc engines which will be tuned for better fuel efficiency and better handling.5-Speed manual and AMT will be offered in new alto 2019.

Since it will be based on HEARTECT platform, performance as well as the mileage of the car will be increased upto 30 kmpl.New Alto has been always a best seller and with the New Alto 2019 price starting from as low as Rs. 2.2 Lakhs (Ex-Showroom), it will set new benchmarks in the segment, not only due to it’s competitive pricing but always with the long equipment list which include Touchscreen Infotainment system, steering mounted controls, reverse parking camera, height adjustable controls with reverse parking sensors, speed sensing door locks, dual horn, headlamp levelling as basic kit available in New Alto 2019.When Launched, it will continue its rivalry with Kwid which is also expected to receive a generation update and Datsun Redi-Go.

10. Maruti Suzuki Ertiga Cross 

Last in the list of Upcoming Maruti Car in 2019 in India is Ertiga Cross.Maruti Suzuki Ertiga Cross has been teased for quite a while now.Now you may be thinking what is the cross version of Ertiga and how is it different from the standard Ertiga.Ertiga Cross is the sportier version of Ertiga and certain elements which adds to the sportiness of the MPV includes skid plates, side body graphics, big bumpers, big spoiler and side bending along with sharp cuts and creases.New Maruti Ertiga is offered only in 7-seating layout.But the Ertiga Cross will be 6-seater with 2-2-2 layout with captain seats at the centre.

Ertiga Cross 2019 will further add up to the sale of the premium MPV and will be paired to new 1.5-litre BS-VI compliant Diesel engine which will debut in Ertiga in either late 2019 or January 2020.Ertiga Cross would be only limited to Diesel engine only.It will be offered in only a single variant that will sit up above ZDI+ model and the price of the Cross version of Ertiga will be slightly higher than Ertiga’s top-end diesel model.Expected price of Ertiga Cross is Rs. 11.2 Lakhs.
