New Maruti WagonR brochure revealing it’s 1.0-litre petrol manual and AMT, 1.2-litre engine and variants, weight, specifications and other details have been out.Launch of New WagonR is on January 23, 2019.

New WagonR is all set to be launched in India on 23rd January 2019 with a variety of engine options including 1.0-litre petrol and CNG, 1.2-litre petrol with manual and AGS.New WagonR have also started reaching certain dealerships across the country while the test drive will begin at the end of this month with deliveries starting from the first week of February 2019.
WagonR in it’s 6th generation gets certain cosmetic updates still based on the tall boy design.Exterior changes on the outside includes reworked headlamps, angular housing for fog lamps and slightly bold bonnet.The tail lamps have been shifted a bit up along with floating roof design and tail lights are integrated with the D-Pillar and some part of the D-pillar is painted in black.Big windows are offered all around.Other than this, no other major changes are seen on the outside.Interior space has been increased thanks to slight enhancement in specifications of the hatchback.
Premium interior of WagonR 2019 gets dual tone brown and beige seat upholstery.The luxurious cabin is supported by all new smartly touchscreen infotainment system with Apple Carplay, Android Auto and much more.Standard safety features given would fulfil the safety requirements which includes reverse parking sensors, speed sensing auto door lock, ABS with Front Dual Airbags, High Speed Alert System and to name a few more.
Maruti will load New WagonR top-spec trim with a number of equipments including power adjustable ORVMs, steering mounted audio and bluetooth controls, projector headlamps and height adjustable driver seat.These features are expected to remain exclusive for only ZXI model.
New WagonR will be offered in a total of 7 variants – LXI 1.0L, VXI 1.0L, VXI 1.0L AGS, VXI 1.2L, VXI AGS 1.2 L, ZXI 1.2L and ZXI AGS 1.2L.LXI trim will come with only 1.0-litre petrol manual engine, VXI model will be available in 1.0L petrol manual and automatic as well as 1.2-litre MT and auto gear shift as well.While the top-model ZXI of WagonR will get 1.2-litre petrol manual and automatic transmission.The 1.0-litre unit is a 3-cylinder motor churning out 67 PS @ 5500 RPM and peak torque of 90 NM @ 3500 RPM.The 1.2-litre is the same seen on Swift and other Maruti Cars that outputs 83 PS @ 6000 RPM and with a torque of 115 NM @ 4200 RPM.Both these units – 1.0-litre and 1.2-litre petrol motors are BS-IV compliant.
Coming to the specifications, New WagonR is 19 mm longer than it’s previous generation at 3655 mm, with a width of 1620 mm which means that New WagonR is 145 mm wider than it’s previous generation and with 5 mm increment in height, it stands 1675 mm taller.Not only this, wheelbase of the hatchback which is now 2435 mm grows up by 35 mm too.Due to increase in the length of the car, the turning radius of the car has also increased by 100 cm.Fuel tank capacity is 35 litres with wheel size of 14-inch.13-inch 155/80 tyres are offered in LXI model while R14 165/70 are in VXI 1.0L.VXI 1.2L, ZXI 1.2L sits on 165/70 R14 wheels.It gets disc brakes at the front and drum at the rear.At the front, it gets McPherson Strut with Coil Spring and talking about suspension at the rear, it gets Torsion Beam with Coil spring.
Since WagonR is based on all new HEARCTECT platform, there has been quite a bit weight reduction which will result in better fuel economy and better handling.Gross Vehicle Weight of New WagonR is 1340 KG while LXI 1.0L and LXI(O) weighs 805 kg each.VXI MT and VXI AGS weighs 820 KG and 825 KG respectively.VXI(O) 1.0L MT and VXI(O) AGS have a kerb weight of 820 KG and 825 KG respectively.The 1.2-litre VXI and VXI(O) MT has a kerb weight of 830 KG and VXI 1.2L AGS and VXI(O) AGS 1.2L weighs 840 Kgs with ZXI 1.2-litre weighing 835 kg and ZXI 1.2L AGS has a weight of 845 kgs.
Along with the variant, specifications, engine and other details, colour options of New WagonR are also out.It will be offered in a total of 6 colour schemes including Blue, Brown, Grey, White, Silver and Orange.At the price bracket of Rs. 4.4 Lakhs, it will compete with the likes of Hyundai Santro and Tata Tiago.
