
Tata Motors will be launching the CNG Version of the Altroz in the coming few weeks and recently it started accepting bookings for the Altroz iCNG and added few new features with it. We will break it down for you to understand what is really different between the Petrol and CNG version of the Altroz!

When it comes to the dimensions, both the cars will have the same dimensions, as the Altroz measures 3990mm in length, 1755mm in width, and 1523mm in height. It has a wheelbase of 2501mm and a ground clearance of 165mm. The boot space in Altroz Petrol version has 345 litres and will have the same boot space in CNG version as well. As for the fuel tank capacity, it has 37 litres of petrol fuel tank, and in the CNG version, you will get 60 litres CNG cylinders.
Tata Altroz Petrol vs iCNG – Exterior and Interior
Tata Altroz from the outside will look the same as before, halogen headlamps at the front, blacked out grille and the chrome line going from the headlamps to another headlamps, and halogen fog lamps. Moving to the side, it has cladding at the bottom window frame, and it rides on the 16-inch alloy wheels. At the rear, it has rear wipers with LED taillamps and rear bumper blacked out.
From the inside, things will start to look slightly different. Tata has updated the Altroz by adding a single-pane sunroof, and a new digital instrument cluster similar to the Tata Tiago. Rest everything remains the same, 7-inch infotainment system, three-spoke steering wheel, and the 6-speaker Harman sound system. However, when you get the CNG variant, you will notice that there is an CNG button next to the engine start/stop which will let you switch to CNG fuel whenever you want. Then in the instrument cluster, there is the separate fuel bar for the CNG fuel to show you how much CNG fuel is left. Rest everything is same.

Tata Motors will be using the same 1.2-litre Revoltron engine for the Petrol as well as for the CNG variant as well. The Petrol engine puts out 86.83 bhp and 113 Nm of torque via a 5-speed Manual and 6-speed DCT Gearbox. For the CNG version, the engine will be the same, except when it petrol, it produces 85 bhp and 113 Nm of torque and when switched to CNG, it produces 72 bhp and 95 Nm of torque, and it only has 5-speed Manual Gearbox, no automatic on offer.
Tata Altroz Petrol vs ICNG – Features
With the Altroz, it already had features such as automatic climate controls, semi-digital instrument cluster, leather seats upholstery, glovebox cooling, rear AC vents, 7-inch infotainment system, voice controls, 90-degree door opening, dual airbags, reverse-parking camera, Tyre-Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), ABS with EBD, Hill Assist, Front Disc Brakes, and ISOFIX anchorages. With the new ICNG version, you get additional features such as digital instrument cluster, and single-pane sunroof. The other variants might also get these additional features but which variants will get that only Tata Motors can tell.

The Tata Altroz petrol version starts at Rs. 6.44 lakh for the base XE variant and goes up to Rs. 9.99 lakh for the top XZA Plus Dark Edition DCT variant. The iCNG version on the other hand is expected to be priced at Rs. 8 lakhs to Rs. 10 lakhs.
