The Compact SUV, Tata Punch has achieved a production milestone of 2,00,000 units which it achieved in just 20 months!
Tata Motors had launched the Punch in October 2021 and ever since then it has produced 2,00,000 lakh units from it’s Pune Plant. In 20 months, it achieved that milestone and this fast production acceleration is a result of the Tata Motors New Forever range. The Punch in FY 2021-22 did sales of 52,716 units and in FY 2022-23 it did 1,33,819 units and in the month of April 2023, it did 10,930 unit sales. Yes, the total adds up to 1,97,465 units which is just 2,535 units less than what we just reported.

Considering the fact that in April 2023 it did 10,935 units sales, it has easily achieved the 2,00,000 in these 11 days of May 2023. The Punch saw enormous growth of 153.84% growth on a year-on-year basis which powered the Punch position to 4th rank in India’s Top 30 Utility vehicles. To be honest, that’s some solid growth for an compact SUV even though it launched in October 2021.
It took 10 months to achieve for the Punch to achieve 1,00,000 unit sales then it took another 5 months to produced 50,000 units in January 2023, and since then the growth accelerated and it achieved the 2,00,000 units milestone. Tata Punch was the first SUV to achieve the fastest 1,00,000 unit sales milestone; Moreover Tata Punch before the launch was tested at the Global NCAP and achieved the 5-star rating which was under the previous Global NCAP protocols.
Tata is working on Punch i-CNG and is expected to launch it in July 2023, given that the Altroz i-CNG bookings are already open and could by the end of this month or in June 2023.
