
Toyota has unveiled a teaser for its upcoming SUV, which is essentially a rebadged Maruti Suzuki Fronx. It will be called the Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor and is scheduled to launch on April 3rd. The alterations from the Fronx will mainly be limited to the exterior, with minor changes expected in the interior.

Similar to the rebadging of the Baleno and Glanza, Fronx is getting a Toyota version, likely to be revealed on April 3rd, 2024. Suzuki and Toyota’s partnership has already produced vehicles like the Grand Vitara and Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Baleno and Glanza, Ertiga and Rumion, as well as the Innova Hycross and Invicto. This collaboration isn’t just limited to the Indian market; Toyota has also been selling rebadged Suzuki vehicles globally, such as the Baleno as the Starlet, Celerio as the Vitz, and Ertiga as the Rumion. Now, this partnership will introduce a new duo with the Fronx and Taisor.

Similar to what was done with the Baleno and Glanza, Toyota might bring a fresh design approach with the Taisor, creating a distinct look. Teasers suggest changes like Hyryder-like LED daytime running lights and a larger grille compared to the Fronx. Different alloy wheel designs and unique LED taillight signatures are also expected changes. Interiors is likely to be the same.
In Engine Options, it’ll get the 1.2 L Petrol, 1.0 L Turbo Petrol, and 1.2 L CNG Engine. Features-wise it will get Heads-up Display, 360 View Camera, Wireless Charger, 9-inch Infotainment System with Wireless Apple Carplay / Android Auto, and so much more.
The Taisor on launch will compete against the Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Tata Nexon, Renault Kiger, Maruti Brezza and Fronx, Mahindra XUV300, and Nissan Magnite.
