As we all know, Toyota is working on a 7-seater SUV based on the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder which will rival the likes of Tata Safari, Mahindra XUV700, MG Hector Plus, and Hyundai Alcazar.
From the outside, the SUV could similar to the Hyryder like the front fascia would look similar to the Hyryder while also sporting a larger size grille. The bumpers will be tweaked a little while it’s finished in carbon black. The side profile will see an upright roof because of the inclusion of the third row resulting in dimensions increase; and will also see new 18-inch alloy wheels along with thin wheel arches and door claddings. The rear profile will see new connected tail-lamps along with flat-ish tailgate and gloss black finished roof spoiler.

Regarding the interiors, expect similarities to the Hyryder with subtle updates. These include replacing the manual handbrake with an electric parking brake on the center console, introducing new 10.25-inch displays for both the infotainment system and digital instrument cluster, refreshing the leather seat upholstery, implementing a dual-tone treatment for the cabin, and adding a panoramic sunroof. Additionally, anticipate third-row AC vents positioned beneath the quarter window and the possibility of retaining the steering from the Hyryder. The second row may feature captain seats for added comfort and convenience.

Regarding engine options, the SUV may draw from the HyCross lineup, including a 2.0 L petrol engine with a 6 Speed Manual and 7 Speed CVT Gearbox, as well as a 2.0 L Petrol Hybrid engine with an eCVT gearbox. Although, its possible the power and torque output may not be the same.
In terms of Features, expect the 7-Seater SUV to come with front ventilated powered seats, wireless charging, Level 2 ADAS, 360 Surround View Camera, Front and Rear Parking Sensors, Hill Descent Control, Cooled Glovebox, Dual-Zone Climate Control, Ambient Lights and so much more.
While specific details remains a mystery for now, we’ll have to eagerly wait for an official confirmation. If launched in India in 2025, this SUV will compete with models like the Hyundai Alcazar, Kia Carens, Tata Safari, MG Hector, and Mahindra XUV700, with an expected price tag around Rs. 15 Lakhs.
