Maruti Suzuki launched their first BS6 compliant variant in April 2019 and now they have 10 BS6 cars, before the deadline April 1, 2020.
Maruti Suzuki India Limited have now got a majority of cars with BS6 compliant engines and they started bringing in the BSVI compliant variants back in April, which means 1 years ahead of the deadline.Now Maruti Suzuki states that the BS6 variants have accounted for total of 5,00,000 sales in just 10 months and that also 3 months before the deadline.
Maruti Suzuki BS6 compliant car range includes Alto 800, Eeco, S-Presso, Celerio, Wagon R, Baleno, Dzire, Swift, XL6 and Ertiga.Celerio X, Alto K10 and Ignis are yet to get the BSVI engines.While Ignis facelift is slated for Auto Expo 2020 launch and is expected to get the Bharat Stage 6 engine then.

Maruti Suzuki currently has the most number of BS6 compliant models in their lineup and will soon upgrade the remaining to the latest emission standards as well.While it is important to mention that the BS6 compliant variant lineup only includes the petrol engines of Maruti Suzuki while the Diesel engines for the small cars are likely to be discontinued and Maruti will bring in house developed BS VI engines in their big vehicles including Ciaz, Ertiga and Futuro-e concept.
Talking about the stats and numbers, the updated Maruti Suzuki BS6 models contributed to nearly 75% of the company’s petrol volume.The latest models to receive BS6 compliant engines are Eeco van and Celerio. Hatchback while the first one to get the BS6 petrol powertrains were Baleno and Alto 800 who got this back in April 2019.More and more automobile manufacturers are upgrading their vehicles to BS compliance.
Out of these 10 cars which are already updated to the BS 6 compliance technology, all of them have contributed equally with Baleno and Alto being the best sellers among all the current BS6 models of Maruti Suzuki in India.
