Maruti Swift on 1st Position in Sales!

Maruti Suzuki continues to dominate the car sales with not 1, 2, or 3 cars, but with 8 cars from their line-up dominating the top 10 car sales of July 2023 marking another great month for them. The other two cars in the top 10 are from Tata Motors, and Hyundai Motors India.

Topping the list is the Maruti Swift with 17,896 units marking the hatchback as the best-selling car of July 2023. It reported year-on-year growth by 3.09% against the 17,359 units in July 2022. The premium hatchback Baleno holds 2nd position with 16,725 unit sales over the 17,960 unit in July 2022 with decline in sales by 6.88% and decline in volume by 1,235 units. The Brezza finished last month at 3rd position and reported 70.39% growth over the last year when it was known as Vitara Brezza.

The affordable MPV, Maruti Ertiga is at 4th positon with 48.05% growth over the last year, and this just goes on to show how dominant Maruti Suzuki is in the Indian Market as it hold Top 4 positions. Taking 5th position is the Hyundai Creta with 11.38% year-on-year growth, and became the best-selling compact SUV in India. Hyundai Motors is currently testing the facelift of the SUV, and is expected to launch in February 2024. Maruti then is back at 6th position with Dzire as its done 13,395 units against the 13,747 units resulting in decline in sales by 2.56%.

The 7th position and 8th position is also taken by Maruti Suzuki with Fronx and WagonR. Those two did 13,220 and 12,970 units in sales respectively with WagonR reporting dip in sales by 42.58% over the last year. Tata Nexon took the 9th position with 12,349 units as it also reports decline in sales by 13.12%. Tata Motors is working on launching the Nexon Facelift later this month, and introduce some new features that’ll hopefully help them regain and keep a hold on the 1st position. At 10th position is the Maruti Eeco with 7.75% year-on-year decline, and this was the 8th vehicle on the list from Maruti Suzuki.
