Maruti Suzuki Ciaz Facelift 2018 is all set to launch in India on August 20,2018.As we reported before,the updated model will receive certain changes in the form of interior,exterior design with many premium features add-on.The facelifted version of Ciaz will be offered in both petrol and diesel engine although at the time of launch Maruti will offer only the petrol unit.Ahead of it’s launch,Ciaz Facelift petrol mileage figures have been revealed.
The petrol unit will be a new K15B unit which also powers the Indonesian-spec 2nd generation Ertiga.This engine produces power of 105 PS @ 6000 RPM with peak torque of 138 NM @ 4400 RPM.This unit will be paired with Suzuki’s SHVS mild-hybrid technology.
The output figures of Ciaz facelift are same as the New Ertiga’s.Maruti claims a fuel efficiency of around 18 kmpl for the 2nd generation Indonesian-spec Ertiga.But the India-spec Ciaz Facelift petrol hybrid will deliver mileage of around 21.6 kmpl with manual transmission while the 4-speed torque converter transmission of 2018 Ciaz same as of Indonesian-spec Ertiga is expected to be slightly less fuel efficient at 20.3 kmpl,which is around 3.6 kmpl more than what it’s rated for New Ertiga.
Ciaz facelift new petrol engine manual will be around 0.9 kmpl more fuel efficient than the outgoing 1.4-litre petrol engine.While Maruti’s 1.4-litre engine makes 92 PS of power,the new petrol unit will churn out 105 PS of power which is around 13 PS more than the outgoing petrol engine plus it’s more fuel efficient too.Outgoing Ciaz AT delivers 19.12 kmpl which is 1.2 kmpl less than the upcoming Ciaz Facelift.
Along with new petrol engine,Ciaz Facelift 2018 will also get a new in-house developed 1.5-litre diesel engine.But this motor will not make way to Ciaz at the time of launch.Initially along with new petrol engine,old,tried and tested fiat-sourced 1.3-litre diesel engine will power 2018 Ciaz.The new 1.5-litre diesel engine is expected to be paired to Suzuki’s SHVS technology.
Bookings for the 2018 Ciaz facelift are already underway.The Ciaz will continue to be sold via Nexa dealerships.
