Maruti Suzuki is working on the facelifted version of it’s micro SUV, Ignis.Maruti Ignis is a small SUV launched in 2017 that takes on the likes of Mahindra KUV100 and upcoming Tata Hornbill.As per reports, Ignis will receive mild update in a few months from now.
The production of the micro SUV has been stopped and Maruti Suzuki is offering huge discounts on Ignis to clear the stock.Also, Nexa dealers are still accepting bookings for the present version of Maruti Ignis.
Now you may be thinking what will be the major difference between current Ignis and 2019 Ignis Facelift.The facelift of Ignis in 2019 will be similar to Baleno Facelift.It will get revised front grille and headlamp unit.A new set of alloys will be offered for top-spec Alpha trim.LED Projector headlamps will come in Delta and Zeta variants as well while the Alpha trim may get LED headlamps.
On the inside, the seat upholstery is expected to be new.Major change will be the updated Smartplay Infotainment system which is also seen on Baleno Facelift and 2019 Wagon R.Standard safety features list will also increase as the Sigma variant is likely to get high speed alert system, reverse parking sensors.
Maruti Suzuki has discontinued the diesel variant of Ignis a few months back due to low demand.Currently, it is offered only with a 1.2-litre K-series petrol engine churning 113 NM of torque.Ignis facelift will also continue with only petrol engine.
Ignis Facelift 2019 will also be offered in 4 models – Sigma, Delta, Zeta and Alpha.Price of present version of Ignis starts at Rs. 4.66 Lakhs and goes unto Rs. 7.06 Lakhs for top Alpha AT variant.Ignis facelift is likely to receive price increase of Rs. 5,000 – Rs. 20,000.Launch of the facelift Ignis is expected in April 2019.
