2020 Ford EcoSport BS6 Petrol, Diesel launched, Check New Prices and Changes

Ford Ecosport becomes the first car of the Ford Lineup to get BSVI compliant petrol and Diesel engines.

Like the other car manufacturers, Ford India has now also started to upgrade all its cars to the BSVI emission standard norms.The first one to receive the BS6 engines is the highest selling car of Ford India, Ecosport.

Ford Ecosport base ambiente petrol now costs Rs. 8,04,000 as compared to old BS4 price of Rs. 7,91,000 while base ambiente diesel variant costs Rs. 8.45 Lakhs, again Rs. 13,000 increase in price.Most of the petrol and diesel variants of Ford Ecosport in the BS6 era have got just a Rs. 13,000 hike in ex showroom prices.The 1.5 L titanium diesel manual price remains unchanged.

We have earlier reported that Ecosport 1.0 3 cylinder EcoBoost engine has now been discontinued and the now the compact SUV comes in 1.5 litre BS6 petrol and Diesel engines.The 1.5 litre Ti-VCT petrol engine makes 122 PS of power and 149 NM of maximum torque.This engine draws power from 5 speed manual and 6 speed torque converter automatic gearbox.Petrol MT and AT are offered in a total of 7 variants.

The 1.5 litre diesel variants also gets a price hike of Rs. 13,000 and is produces 100 PS and 215 NM of peak torque.It draws power from 5 speed manual transmission option.The Diesel engine can be had in a total of 6 variants which translates into a total of 13 variants for the compact SUV.The Petrol variant’s price ranges between Rs. 8.04 Lakhs for the base ambiente model to Rs. 11.43 Lakhs for the Titanium Plus automatic option.While the diesel variants falls in the price bracket of Rs. 8.54 Lakhs and Rs. 11.58 lakhs.

Ford Ecosport was earlier offered with 2 years and 1,00,000 kms warranty but now with the launch of BSVI engines, Ford India has increased the warranty period upto 3 years and 1,00,000 kms.

On this, Vinay Raina, Executive Director Marketing, Sales and Service at Ford India, said, “Ford is committed to offer products & technologies our customers want & value — including our best-in-class diesel engines – at almost the same price,”He also said, “With continuation of its entire range, Ford EcoSport will be the vehicle of choice for all compact SUV customers and meet their diverse needs.”

Top Features of 2020 Ford EcoSport includes Cruise controls, push start stop button with smart keyless entry, Rain sensing automatic wipers, HID projector headlamps with LED DRLs, smart electric sunroof, 8 or 9 inch touchscreen infotainment system(depending upon the variant you choose) with Apple Carplay, android auto, SYNC3.Safety equipment includes 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, tyre pressure monitoring system, rear defogger, hill start launch, traction control system, rear parking sensors with reverse parking camera among others.

Ford Ecosport also becomes the first compact SUV in its segment to get BS-VI compliant Diesel engine and rivals the likes of soon to be updated Tata Nexon, Maruti Vitara Brezza which will get a facelift next month, Hyundai Venue, Honda WR-V which will get a facelift update in April 2020 and Mahindra XUV300.
