Hyundai Creta 2nd generation was launched in India back on March 18, 2020.Even before the official launch of the SUV, Creta grabbed more than 14,000 bookings and just before the nationwide lockdown was announced, the total confirmed bookings were around 18,000.
Even during the lockdown, Hyundai India received 75% of the total bookings for Creta.The SUV has been one of most trending cars in India, same was the case with the first generation variant of South Korean SUV as well its facelift.The deliveries of Hyundai Creta will begin once the lockdown is lifted.
Hyundai Creta 2020 is available in E, EX, S, SX and SX(O) trims.Variety of engines are on offer including 1.5 litre 4 cylinder MPI petrol engine with 113 BHP @ 6300 RpM and 144 NM @ 4500 RPM of peak torque.It gets the option of 6 Speed Manual and 6 Speed CVT.
Another petrol engine in the form of 1.4 litre GDI turbo mill derived from Kia Seltos albeit without manual transmission is also on offer.The output figures are 138 BHP @ 6000 RPM and 242 NM @ 1500 RPM.The sole transmission option available here is 7 Speed DCT automatic.
The 1.5 litre CRDi 4 cylinder diesel with 6 Speed Manual and 6 Speed Torque Converter Automatic makes 113 BHP @ 4000 RPM and 250 NM @ 1500 – 2750 RPM.The automatic variants of all three engines also gets paddle shifters.

Colour schemes of New Creta 2020 are Polar white, Galaxy blue, Mulberry Red, Typhoon Silver, Lava orange, Phantom black, Titan Grey.These colour schemes can be had with 1.5 litre petrol and diesel variants while the turbo petrol engine trims gets only three exterior paint options – Deep forest, Polar white with phantom black and Lava orange with phantom black.
Hyundai Creta rivals the likes of Kia Seltos, soon to be updated with new and powerful 1.3 litre turbo petrol engine, Nissan Kicks and Renault Duster, Tata Harrier, MG Hector and upcoming Skoda Kliq and Volkswagen Taigun.
