Mahindra plans to release four new SUVs with significant enhancements to the market this year. This might be a game-changer for the Indian automaker and have a significant impact on the SUV segment.
- Mahindra XUV300 Facelift:
In the first half of 2024, Mahindra plans to introduce its sportier compact SUV. With new alloys, a new front and back fascia, and other new technological features, the all-new XUV300 is probably going to receive significant design upgrades. Based on the Mahindra BE (Born Electric) series, the design language is probably going to be used. A larger touch-screen infotainment system and a panoramic sunroof are anticipated to be included in the new XUV300 facelift, assuming no dimensions are altered. The 1.2-liter turbocharged gasoline and 1.5-liter diesel engine sets under the hood are probably going to be the same. When coupled to a 6-speed MT gearbox, the petrol engine can generate 131 HP. probably going to get a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox with an Aisin source for the turbo petrol engine.
- Mahindra XUV300 Ev:
In order to provide a fierce rival in the electric vehicle market, Mahindra plans to unveil the XUV300’s electric version on the market later this year. This will be positioned below the XUV400 and will resemble the design language of Mahindra’s BE (Born Electric) range. Likely to have a unique EV-like style with a close resemblance to the XUV300 facelift, and the interior may get a few EV tweaks to give it a distinct EV feel. With a smaller 35kWh battery pack, Mahindra will introduce this vehicle, which will probably cost two lakhs less than the current XUV 400 on sale.
- Mahindra Thar 5, Door:
In the first half of 2024, Mahindra’s much-anticipated SUV is scheduled to debut. With tonnes of new improvements, the five-door Thar variant—likely to be called Thar Armada—is nearly ready for its official launch. This version is expected to feature a sunroof and a bigger touch-screen infotainment system. With increased ruggedness and off-road capability, the Thar Armada will rival the recently introduced Maruti Jimny head-to-head. Under the hood, it most likely will use the same 2.0-liter MStallion gasoline engine paired with a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission as the 2.2-liter MHawk diesel engine. This SUV is going to redefine the competition in its market.
- Mahindra Xuv.e8:
Later this year, Mahindra plans to launch the New Xuv.e8, its first electric SUV built on the newly developed INGLO skateboard platform. This will resemble the XUV 700 in terms of body style, with minor adjustments to give it a more distinctive EV appearance. Along with the twin-screen arrangement present on the current XUV 700, it is anticipated to have an extra touchscreen for the passengers. It is anticipated that the New XUV-e8 will have an 80kWh battery pack, two power outputs that can provide 230 and 350 horsepower, respectively, and most likely a twin-motor arrangement to power the AWD variant. This electric SUV may be the most practical one, as it offers a fantastic balance of modern technology, safety, and comfort.
