Ford Aspire Facelift is all set to launch today in India.Ford has made multiple changes in terms of exterior looks and engine on offer.Having spotted testing many times,Aspire Facelift will boast many new comfort and safety features.
First change is in the petrol unit of Aspire Facelift.This will be a new 1.2-litre Dragon Series petrol engine with 96 PS of power and 120 NM torque.This unit will be offered with only 5-speed manual transmission.The ARAI certified fuel economy of this new unit is 20.4 kmpl which is 2.2 kmpl more than the old petrol engine of the Ford Aspire.
Automatic transmission is offered in the new 1.5-litre petrol engine which is also tuned and is more powerful than the outgoing model with figures of 123 HP and 150 NM of torque.This motor delivers slightly low mileage at 16.3 kmpl as compared to bit higher 17 kmpl earlier.
The 1.5-litre diesel engine remains the same with slight tuning to make it more efficient.It outputs 100 PS and 215 NM maximum torque.This unit gets paired to 5-speed manual.Mileage of this engine has been increased from 25.83 kmpl to 26.1 kmpl.
Ford Aspire Facelift comes with 5 years/1,00,000 kms warranty as standard as compared to earlier warranty of 2 years/1,00,000 kms.
There will be a total of five variants on offer.This starts from base variant,Ambiente and going upto top end fully loaded Titanium+ variant.
AMBIENTE
Ford Aspire Facelift Base Ambiente trim is offered in 1.2-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engine.Both these engines gets a manual transmission in Ambiente variant.
FEATURES – Adjustable front and rear seat headrests, Manual AC, Tilt steering, Fabric seats, 12V outlet, Front power windows, Dual front airbags, Rear parking sensors, ABS with EBD and Front row seatbelt reminder.
TREND
Trend variant also continues with the same engine options as the Ambiente model.No automatic gearbox is offered either in petrol and diesel engines.
FEATURES – Body-coloured door handles and wing mirrors, Rear seat centre armrest, All four power windows, Tachometer and Remote keyless entry,Passenger vanity mirror, Radio with USB, Bluetooth and four speakers, Boot lamp, Gear shift indicator, Turn indicators on wing mirrors.
TREND+
Trend plus is the mid variant which is offered with manual gearbox for petrol and diesel choices.
FEATURES – 7.0-inch capacitive touchscreen infotainment system, Automatic climate control, Front fog lamps and Rear defogger.
TITANIUM
Titanium model starts offering the 1.5-litre petrol engine with automatic gearbox.Other powertrains includes 1.2-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engine with manual gearbox.
FEATURES – Chrome grille surround, Push button start, Six-speed automatic gearbox (1.5 petrol AT only), Hill start assist (Petrol AT only), ESP (Petrol AT only) and Traction control (Petrol AT only)
TITANIUM+
The top-spec trim ditches the 1.5-litre petrol automatic unit.Other transmission options continues from the previous trims.
FEATURES – Dual USB ports, 6.5-inch capacitive touchscreen infotainment system, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Ford Sync3, Emergency assistance service and Dual front, side and curtain airbags.
Aspire Facelift 2018 will rival the likes of Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Honda Amaze, Volkswagen Ameo, Hyundai XCent and Tata Tigor.
