Honda City Hybrid will cost Rs 2 lakh to Rs 3 lakh more than the corresponding petrol variant.
After getting delayed multiple times, Honda City Hybrid will finally go on sale in India this year. The sedan will be unveiled on April 14, 2022 and we have got information from our sources, that City Hybrid price announcement and launch will take place in first week of June.
Honda City Hybrid – How exterior is different from regular City?
City Hybrid design and styling is similar to City RS. It gets sporty front and rear bumpers. Black finish can be seen on the bumpers, grille and ORVMs. Compared to dual tone environment theme in regular City, this one gets all black cabin.
Honda City Hybrid – Will it have any extra features?
City Hybrid will have additonal equipments on offer. It is confirmed to feature Honda City sensing which is set of active safety features like emergency braking, front collision warning, auto high beam assist, lane keep assist, lane departure warning and adaptive cruise control.
Honda City Hybrid – What about Engine & battery?
City Hybrid utilises Honda’s i-MMD hybrid tech that includes 1.5 litre 4 cylinder naturally aspirated Atkinson petrol engine along with two electric motors.
NA Petrol engine belts out 97 BHP and 127 NM of torque. Electric motor delivers 108 BHP and 253 NM of torque. It sends power to the front wheels.
There will be total 3 drive modes – running on internal combustion engine, running on electric motors or running on both.
City Hybrid will be quite fuel efficient. It is expected to have claimed economy of close to 27 kmpl. City with petrol engine has an ARAI certified mileage of 17.8 kmpl for manual and 18.4 kmpl for CVT.
Honda City Hybrid – Will it be too expensive?
Compared to petrol counterpart, Honda City Hybrid will be around Rs 3 lakh premium. Honda is expected to price it somewhere between Rs 15 lakh and Rs 19 lakh (Price – Ex showroom).
