Honda City e:HEV manufacturing has been commenced at carmakers Tapukara plant in Rajasthan. The hybrid sedan will be sold alongside standard City.
Bookings are already underway at Rs 21,000 across all Honda dealerships. One can reserve the car online via ‘Honda from Home’ platform by paying initial sum of Rs 5,000
Along with illuminated Honda logo at front and rear, the hybrid variant has a distinctive design for front grille and fog lamp housing. Trunk lid spoiler and diffuser ops up the sporty quotient.

Although the interiors are still dual tone, but the combination here is ivory and black as compared to black and beige in ICE powered City. Instrument cluster displays power flow and other ADAS related information.
This new trim packs in additional safety equipments including electric parking brake, all four disc brakes, ADAS features – auto high beam aid, lane departure warning, auto adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist.

Powered by 1.5 L Atkinson petrol engine, the output figures are 97 BHP and 127 NM of torque while the battery performance is rated at 108 BHP and 253 NM. Fuel economy is best in class, at 26.5 kmpl. There are 3 drive modes – pure EV mode, engine drive mode and a combination of both.
Honda City Hybrid price announcement and launch will take place in first week of May 2022. To be offered in just one variant, it is likely to carry a price sticker of Rs 18 lakh (Ex Showroom), around Rs 3 lakh premium over City petrol.
