Hyundai Aura bookings are already underway and the compact sedan was unveiled in the country last month.This will be the first launch by the Korean carmakers for 2020 and have a long lineup for the year including a number of facelift and new generation variants.
In terms of overall looks, it looks quite similar to Grand i10 NIOS featuring projector headlamps and fog lamps, Hyundai’s signature cascading design grille with integrated Hyundai’s N line shaped LED DRLs.The alloys are 15 incher and are slightly different to those seen on Grand i10 NIOS.The Tail lamps are in Z shape and LED as well.
Aura gets a brown and beige dual tone interior and the interior has been derived from the Hyundai’s hatchback.It gets semi digital instrument cluster, 8 inch touchscreen infotainment, rear ac vents.The compact sedan will also get adjustable headrest for the rear occupants.
Top features of Aura includes automatic ac with eco coating technology and rear ac vents, wireless phone charger, 8 inch touchscreen infotainment system with apple CarPlay, android auto, navigation, arkamys sound system, chrome outside door handles, USB charger.In terms of safety, Aura is equipped with segment first projector fog lamps, ABS with end, rear parking sensors with reverse parking camera, front driver and co-driver airbags among others.
Hyundai Aura comes in a total of three warranty options, for Aura, Hyundai calls it ‘Wonder Warranty’.It is available with the option of 3 years and 1,00,000 kms, 4 years and 50,000 kms and 5 years and 40,000 kilometres.Along with this, Hyundai India will also offer road side assistance as well.
There will be 5 variants on offer including E, S, SX, SX+ and SX(O).CNG comes in S trim while 1.0 L turbo petrol will only be in SX Plus model.Aura can be had in six colour schemes – Typhoon Silver, polar White, Titan Grey, Fiery Red, Alpha Blue and Vintage Brown.1.0 litre 3 cylinder SX+ turbo petrol comes in Polar White, Fiery Red and Typhoon Silver.
The BS-VI compliant engine range includes 2 petrol, 1 bi-fuel petrol-cng and 1 diesel variant.the 1.2 litre petrol unit makes 83 PS and 114 NM of torque with 5 speed manual and automatic transmission.The 1.0 litre GDI 3 cylinder has the capability to make 100 PS and 172 NM of maximum torque.1.2 litre diesel unit generates about 75 PS and 190 NM and like the petrol 1.2, it is also paired with 5 speed manual and 5 speed AMT gearbox.
The first launch by Hyundai India for 2020 will take place on January 21.Official bookings are already underway at a token sum of Rs. 10,000.Expected price of Hyundai Aura is Rs. 6 Lakhs to Rs. 9 Lakhs(Ex Showroom Price).When launched, it will find competition with rivals including Honda Amaze, Maruti Dzire, Ford Aspire and soon to be launched Tata Tigor Facelift.
