The new Verna only has petrol engines and a stylish appearance from both the rear and the front quarters.
Next month, Hyundai will unveil the all-new 6th gen Verna and the company has already made announcements about the number of features the Verna will get and also revealed how it will look from the front and the rear quarters. We’ve got a new spy image that shows the 6th gen Hyundai Verna which is marketed as Hyundai Accent internationally, from the rear quarters providing us our first glimpse of the production-spec sedan.
The car was spotted in South Korea in production-spec with badging of Accent and it’s likely to be a commercial ad shoot. This is the first undisguised look of the car seen in white color with Hyundai releasing sketches of the car of front and the rear. The spy shots confirms the unique tail-lamp design and the connected LED light bar that get sort-of crystal inserts. A huge Hyundai logo sits on top of the tail lamp as well.
There’s a dotted LEDs in the light bar. The reverse lamps appears to be divided in three horizontal lines located in three separate units at each corners below the tail lamps. The rear bumper has body-colored faux skid plate with textures, cuts and creases, and also has a third-stop lamp. It’ll be interesting to see if the Indian-spec Verna gets the same layout as well.
The all-new Verna will be available with only Petrol engines. It’ll get 1.5 litre turbo-petrol engine that produces 160 bhp and comes with a 6-speed Manual or 7-speed DCT automatic transmission. The base variant will get a 1.5 litre naturally aspirated petrol engine which produces 115 bhp that is mated to a 6-speed Manual or CVT Transmission. The Verna that used to offer diesel engine now no longer offer marking the end of diesel engines in the midsize sedans as the rival do not offer either.
Hyundai had started accepting bookings at a price of Rs. 25,000/- and announced the variants the next-gen Verna will be sold in. It’ll be sold in EX, S, SX, and SX(O) variants. The next-gen Verna will rival the Volkswagen Virtus, Skoda Slavia, upcoming Honda City facelift, and the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz that was recently updated.
