New Honda Brio 2018 have made it’s global debut at the GIIAS show in Indonesia.New Brio is based on Honda’s Small RS Concept which was previewed earlier this year at IIMS 2018 in April.2018 Brio receives styling updates from New Honda Amaze 2018 which was launched recently.New Brio has received an evolutionary design theme and is designed by Honda R&D Pacific Centre in Thailand.
New model no doubt looks from premium than the outgoing one,especially in it’s RS form which is mainly due to sharp curves,sporty spoiler,snazzy body paint and other stylish curves and lines.Honda might think about bringing it to India in a bid to pump up the sales.
Dimension of the car is also increased to make it look more proportionate.It is now longer,taller and wider when compared to it’s present model.
Exterior of the hatchback receives sporty accents.Just like New Amaze,it also has large rectangular shaped headlamps,chunky chrome bar,sporty bumpers,alloy wheels with LED strips on air intakes.The car shown at GIIAS is offered in two trims – Standard(Satya) and RS.At the back,the new brio has a full tail gate.Rear looks like that of Figo Facelift with the presence of large roof spoiler,faux diffuser and LED tail lamps.
The Interior of New Brio is completely changed.The dashboard draws inspiration from Jazz.Instrument cluster will be revised which will display some useful information.This time Brio will get Touchscreen Infotainment System with the support of Apple Carplay,Android Auto,push start/stop button snd some other premium features.Like the new Amaze,Brio will also use soft touch high quality material for certain elements.
2018 Brio will be powered by the same set of engines as of it’s predecessor.It will come with the same 1.2-litre i-VTEC petrol engine making 90 PS of power with 110 NM of peak torque.While the Thailand and Philippines trims receives a powerful 1.3-litre petrol engine mated to 5-speed manual and AMT gearbox with figures of 100 PS and 127 NM.A 1.5-litre diesel unit is expected to power Brio given that New Swift 2018 is offering diesel engine,producing 100 PS power and 200 NM torque.
New Brio will go on sale in Indonesia at the end of this year.We can expect Honda India to introduce New Brio in India in the first half of 2019.The pricing will be between Rs. 5 Lakhs and Rs. 8 Lakhs.When Launched,it will compete with New Swift 2018,Tata Tiago and Maruti Ignis.
