Jeep India cancelled the plan to bring the Renegade SUV to India but surely the 2nd generation is coming to the Indian market in next couple of year.
Jeep Renegade has been in production since 2014 and the American carmakers entered the Indian market with its Compass SUV and still has got only one car in its lineup.
Recently, the Jeep Renegade SUV with Maharashtra number plate covered with camouflage was spied testing on the road between Goa and Mangalore. Talking about the design, upfront it gets seven slot front grille which integrates with circular shaped headlamps on either sides. Lower end of the bumper features big air intakes.
The SUV features full body black cladding, squared wheel arches, 17-inch alloys and overall it gets boxy design. Big size roof rails, Rear spoiler are also present also with square LED tail lamps.
In the US market, it is available in multiple variants which includes Sport, Latitude, Upland, Altitude, North Edition, Limited, Trailhawk and High Altitude. Engine options offered in America for Renegade are 1.4 L and 2.4 L Multi air units with option of FWD and 4×4.The price of Jeep Renegade in USA is $22,620 to $29,240 (between Rs. 15 Lakhs and Rs. 20 Lakhs).

Jeep Renegade is likely to get 1.3 litre Multi Air Turbo petrol engine with 148 BHP of power and 270 NM with 6 speed manual and 7 speed DCT. The 4wd system is likely to be introduced at a later stage. Along with this, it will also get a Diesel engine as well.
When will Jeep Renegade Launch in India?
Currently the Renegade is in its 1st generation and the new get of the SUV will be unveiled in 2022 and will be coming to India by early 2023 but before this Jeep India will have 3 more products added to the lineup apart from the Compass SUV assembled at Ranjangaon facelift.
The first of these three will be the facelifted version of Compass which made debut a few days back with new petrol engine, and mild updates to the interior and exterior. After this, FCA will bring 7 seater of Compass which they call Low-D SUV in the price bracket of Rs. 32 L to Rs. 37 L (Ex Showroom) to rival premium SUVs including Toyota Fortuner, Mahindra Alturas G4, Ford Endeavour and upcoming MG Gloster.
Apart from the 7 seater Compass which is scheduled for late 2021 launch, the American car manufacturer have planned to bring a sub compact SUV with 1.3 litre Multi air turbo petrol engine to the India shores by early 2022 to take on extremely competitive segment with SUVs including Hyundai Venue, Ford Ecosport, Tata Nexon, Maruti Vitara Brezza, Honda WR-V and Mahindra XUV300.
What will be price of Jeep Renegade?
The second gen Jeep Renegade is likely to be introduced at a starting price of Rs. 12 Lakhs with top spec bundled with all the equipments costing around Rs. 18 Lakhs (Ex Showroom). The American SUV will challenge the likes of Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Skoda Vision IN and VW Tiguan but with a slightly higher price tag.
