Mahindra has launched XUV300 in February 2019 and the premium and feature loaded SUV is receiving quite a good response in the market.But at the time of launch, it was available only in manual transmission option and it is only a few months back when Mahindra added AMT option in top end trims of Diesel engine including W8 and W8(O) trims.
And now today, Mahindra diesel AMT have been launched in the lower spec and one of the highest selling W6 variant as well.Priced at Rs. 9.99 Lakhs (Ex Showroom), it is premium to its manual counterpart by just Rs. 50,000 while cheaper than W8 automatic diesel by Rs. 1.5 Lakhs.
There are a number of features which this Magnetti-Marelli sourced 6 speed AMT has to offer.It gets 14 features including creep mode, auto and manual mode, anti roll back on slopes, kick down shift, driver information display with gear position among others.
The Diesel engine on XUV300 is a 1.5 litre 4 cylinder turbocharged motor with class leading figures of 115 BHP and 300 NM.The claimed fuel economy for this unit is 20 kmpl.Now this means that W6 variant is available in petrol manual, diesel manual and automatic.Only W4 base model misses out on diesel automatic.
This W6 variant is loaded with safety tech like Dual Front Airbags, ABS with EBD, Corner braking control, All 4 disc brakes, Child seat anchors, Collapsible steering and side intrusion beam, Seatbelt reminder for co driver, Front seatbelt with pre tensioner and load limiter, Speed sensing auto door lock, Impact sensing auto door unlock, High mount stop lamp, Immobilizer, Panic braking signal, Passenger airbag deactivation switch, Central locking and Follow me home headlamps.
Other features includes 7 inch touchscreen infotainment system, 16 inch steel wheels, 4 speakers, LED tail lights, fabric seat upholstery, electrically adjustable outside rear view mirror, all 4 power windows, 60:40 split rear seat and lots of storage space as well.
XUV300 is based up on Ssangyong Tivoli’s X100 platform and competes with the likes of Venue, Vitara Brezza, WR-V, EcoSport and Nexon.In the month of august 2019, its sales have come down slightly.It comes with 2 years and unlimited kms warranty and is also likely to soon get BS-VI compliant engines as they have been seen a number of times on test as well.
XUV300 will also get electric variant with range around 350 km in mid 2020 and is also expected to get a 7 seater variant in the form of XUV400 with launch slated for the year 2022.
