Mahindra XUV 300 is churning out great sales for the company.Launched in February 2019, XUV 300 recorded 5,000+ sales in the month of May.But however till now, it was missing out on automatic transmission option which the carmakers are finally introducing for the compact premium SUV.
Both Vitara Brezza as well as Nexon offers the combination of diesel automatic in the segment and the next up comes Mahindra who are bringing AMT option for its diesel variants.However, it is important to mention that this Marelli-sourced 6 Speed AMT option will be only limited upto diesel models of XUV300.Currently, Mahindra will be providing automatic gearbox only for the diesel trims and likely to introduce automatic for petrol variants by year end.
For the diesel trims, automatic comes in W6, W8 and W8(O) trims while it misses out on the base W4 variant.W4 diesel variant will continue to be paired to a 6 speed manual gearbox as of now.Bookings for the automatic transmission have already begun.Launch will take place in the month of July.
Price of automatic variant will be Rs. 50,000 than the standard diesel manual gearbox option which means that the diesel automatic range of XUV 300 will be between Rs. 9.8 Lakhs and Rs. 12.5 Lakhs (Ex Showroom).
