Mahindra will be bringing their premium and feature loaded sub-compact SUV, XUV 300 in India on February 14, 2019.Based on X100 platform, the SUV gets class leading wheelbase as well as features.
Now that was all about features, but what about engine options?It gets two engines – 1.2-litre G80 turbocharged petrol engine making massive 200 NM of torque with a claimed fuel economy of 17 kmpl.The diesel one is a bigger 1.5-litre D15 motor which also fits under Marazzo MPV.This unit makes 300 NM of class leading torque.The mileage of this unit is 20 kmpl and it also comes with mild hybrid tech for better mileage.
Both these engines are currently available with a 6-speed manual transmission.Currently, they do not get an automatic gearbox which it’s rivals offer.As per reports, Mahindra will be offering automatic transmission in XUV 300 from mid-2020.Automatic gearbox in 2020 will be offered both for petrol and diesel XUV300.
The launch of XUV300 300 automatic will not take place in 2019.It will coming both in XUV 300 and Marazzo in April 2020 only.The specifications of automatic transmission for XUV 300 2020 will be similar to it’s manual model.Mahindra will also be bringing electric version of XUV 300 in 2020 in India with a range of 350 km.
Mahindra XUV 300 get certain class leading features including Sunroof, Traction Controls, 7 Airbags, Front Parking Sensors, Heated Outside Rear View Mirrors, Smart Steering with Normal, Sport, Comfort modes, dual zone automatic ac, cruise controls, leather seats and all 4 disc brakes.
At the time of launch, Mahindra XUV300 will come in a total of 4 variants – W4, W6, W8 and W8(O).All these trims which will be offered in petrol and diesel manual and automatic gearbox is likely to offered across the range from base model to top model as well.The mileage of automatic gearbox will be slightly less than the manual counterparts.
