Mahindra XUV300 – Is it worth waiting?

Mahindra XUV300 launching in India on February 14 is a worth wait. Here’s why!

Mahindra will be bringing their Maruti Brezza rival in the month of February.Mahindra has already tried to enter the sub-compact SUV segment with it’s two products but they didn’t stood upto the expectations. But now Mahindra has got a full proof solution to establish and show off strength in the toughest segment. The Ssangyong based SUV is ready to set new benchmarks in the segment.

A few months back, Mahindra introduced it’s stylish and elegant MPV with stadium space inside the cabin in the form of Marazzo. For Mahindra, Marazzo has been doing quite well since it’s launch.Falling in the price bracket of Rs. 10 Lakhs, it comes with powerful engines and modern technologies.Mahindra has moved one step forward with Marazzo launch in terms of premium interiors. Not only the Marazzo is spacious, stylish and strong, but it scores well when it comes to premiumness and freshness of the cabin.

Moving back to XUV 300, you may be thinking that whether should I wait for this upcoming Mahindra sub-compact SUV or go for certain other already cars in this segment. But if you are willing to buy a SUV in the range of Rs. 8 L – Rs. 12 L, you can surely wait for XUV300.There are a number of reasons why XUV300 stands over and apart from it’s competition.

In India, while buying a car, we are always concerned about the features, what safety features it offers and what makes it class leading. When it comes to the features on offer without even a single doubt, Mahindra XUV300 will be the king in the segment in which it is about to enter.XUV300 Class leading features of XUV 300 includes 7 Airbags, Front Parking Sensors, ESP, All 4 Disc Brakes and much more. You might be thinking if a car gets so many top-notch features, it must be on the premium side.Yes, in terms on pricing, it will be slightly expensive but Mahindra will even load its basic trim whose price will start from Rs. 8 Lakhs with more features that it’s rivals has got to offer.Safety kit of W4 variant includes ABS with EBD, Dual Frontal Airbags, Engine Immobilizer, Speed Sensing Auto Door Locks, ISOFIX child mounts, High Speed Alert System,,All 4 disc brakes.

This was about the standard safety features of the base model.Along with this, all 4 power window controls with auto down for driver side, TFT multi-info display, cooled glovebox will also be provided right from the base variant as well.Mahindra will use high quality material on dash as well as the dashboard panel.Leather seat upholstery will be reserved for the W8 (O) trim.Like the Marazzo, the materials used inside the cabin will be of high quality.

Mahindra XUV300 will be offered with 1.2-litre petrol and 1.5-litre Diesel engines. The 1.2-litre engine will be a turbocharged outputting 200 NM of toque and the powerful 1.5 L diesel unit derived from Marazzo will generate class leading figures of 126 BHP and 300 NM.Now you may be wondering if the engines are so powerful we have to compromise on fuel efficiency. But no, Mahindra has kept in mind to bring out a perfect combination of fuel economy and performance.Mahindra’s mild-hybrid technology will be seen XUV300 as well to bring out excellent mileage figures.

So these are some of the reasons that makes the XUV300 a worth wait. But the success of the SUV will also be dependent on the price tag at which it comes. In order to eat 6000-7000 unit sales of the compact SUV segment, it needs to be priced competitively.
