Maruti Baleno 2022 Facelift gets 50,000 bookings just 44 days.
Maruti Baleno Facelift was launched in India on February 23 while the official official begun February 7 onwards.
The first 25,000 bookings came in 16 days while the next 25k took around 28 days for the facelift iteration of the premium hatchback. Its chief rival, Hyundai i20, which got a generation update in 2020, grabbed 30,000 bookings in 40 days.

Baleno Facelift gets number of cosmetic updates inside out to make it more fresh and contemporary. It features bigger front grille, updated headlamp design, all new bumpers, new set of alloy wheels, sleeker LED tail lamp among others.
Cabin also feels more plush thanks to dash top system, flat bottom steering unit and more premium bit all around.
The hatchback, with the update, also packs in more high tech features including 360 degree camera, heads up display, 9” touchscreen infotainment system with amazon Alexa, Arkamys sound, rear ac vents, Suzuki Connect and more.
Also the dimensions are slight bit different as compared to 2019 Baleno. Kerb weight has also gone up while the HEARTECT platform still forms the base for the premium hatchback.
It ditches the 1.2-litre mild hybrid petrol mill and now continues with dual VVT petrol engine with functions like engine start stop, torque assist and brake energy regeneration. Here are the engine specs:

CVT paves way for AMT while the fuel economy is also a bit reduced as well from 23.87 kmpl to 22.35 kmpl for manual variants.

On 15th of this month, Toyota’s iteration of Baleno went on sale but this time around, it wasn’t just badging difference. Glanza possesses distinctive elements inside out, even including dual tone interior theme and with better warranty choice. While the feature list and engine specifications were similar for both the cars.
What’s next from Maruti?
MSIL have launched a slew of new and updated models in past few months. Now they plan to bring updated Ertiga, XL6 (which have already started reaching dealer stockyards), all new Brezza (expected launch in May), CNG version of Baleno and other Nexa cars along with all new mid size Creta-Seltos rivalling SUV around festive season.
