Many MG dealerships across the country have also started accepted bookings and the deliveries of the upcoming Hector Plus will begin one month after the official introduction, that is, August 2020.

Morris Garages (MG) Hector Plus will have unique exterior styling with tweaked turn indicators and headlamps unit along with redesigned lower end of the front and rear bumper. Front honeycomb grille loses chrome surrounds instead grabs piano black trim for a sporty presence.

The side profile looks exactly the same except for the third row glass area and coming to the rear tail lights has gone slimmer and sleeker than before. The dimensions of MG Hector Plus are similar to Hector, one difference being Hector Plus is longer by 65 mm than the standard 5 seater Hector.

Engine options of Hector will be offered in Hector Plus with the same specifications with the fuel efficiency obviously going down just a bit. The 1.5 litre petrol engine makes 141 BHP and 250 NM with option of 6 Speed MT / DCT and has remained the most popular choice of the customers.

The smart hybrid 1.5 litre petrol engine is tuned to generate out the same power and torque figures. With the presence of 48 V battery, the mileage will be better than the standard 1.5 litre intercooled petrol mill.

Fiat sourced 2.0 litre turbocharged Diesel engine will be initially available with just 6 speed manual gearbox likely to get automatic transmission early next year. The engine is tuned to generate 168 BHP and 350 NM. Expected ARAI certified fuel efficiency is 16.8 kmpl.

When launched in India, it will be available as a 6 seater with individual/captain seats for the second. The 7 seater bench type rear seat is expected to arrive in Indian market by December 2020.

The Interior won’t feature any changes and will wear the black and brown leather seat upholstery. Third row passengers will have the comfort with the availability of air con vents for the last two passengers. The variant list will also remain unchanged.

Feature list is expected to remain the same with some of the top equipments including 360 degree camera, connected car technology, electric adjustment for front seats, panoramic sunroof, hands free tailgate, ambient lighting, TPMS, electric parking brake, 6 airbags among loads of other tech on offer.

As compared to Hector, the price of 6-seater Hector will be kept 1 lakh premium and expected to carry a starting price of 13.7 Lakhs with the top end diesel trim costing around Rs. 18.8 Lakhs.

The rival cars of MG Hector Plus are top selling Toyota Innova Crysta and soon to be launched Tata Gravitas. The segment will become much more competitive next years as Hyundai Creta 7 seater and New generation Mahindra XUV500 are expected to arrive by next year’s festive season.
