MG Hector sales crosses 2,000 in August 2019, more than 3,500 units sold in just 2 months

One of the much anticipated SUV of 2019, MG Hector has stood upto the expectations and is having a great start in the Indian market.Launched at a very competitive price in India and plethora of high tech features on board, Hector has become the segment leader within 2 months of its launch.

A total of 1,508 units were sold in the first month and now it has churned 2,018 sales, which means the total sales figures has crossed 3,500 in just 2 months, which is a great milestone for a vehicle of this segment.MG Hector has left its rivals much behind in terms of sales.

Bookings for the feature rich SUV are temporarily closed as it has received overwhelming response and bookings for Hector will be open very soon.The production of Hector will be increased to 3,000 units per month by October 2019.MG have also announced ‘Worth Waiting For’ Programme according to which 1,000 rewards points would be added every additional week of the delivery of MG Hector and using these reward points, customers can buy official accessories for their SUV.

MG Hector is offered in 4 variant options – Style, Super, Smart and Sharp.It also gets two engine options including 1.5 litre turbocharged petrol engine with 143 PS of power and 250 NM of torque.It gets 6 speed manual option and 7 speed DCT option along with 48V petrol hybrid engine option as well.Also there is bigger 2.0 litre fiat sourced Diesel engine with 350 NM of maximum torque.It comes only in 6 speed manual transmission option.There is equal demand for both these engine options.The engines for MG Hector are currently BS-IV and will be upgraded to BS-VI compliance by early 2020.

There are quite a lot of reasons for the success of this vehicle in India.First of all is very competitive pricing, striking exterior, connected car technology and tons of equipments on offer.Hector is produced at company’s Halol plant in Gujarat and is the first car for India by the carmakers.

Morris Garages will be bringing a car every 6 to 7 months in India.The second vehicle will be an electric SUV which will be direct rivalling against the recently launched Hyundai Kona which had a great start.The first electric car by MG for India will be eZS and is likely to be priced between Rs. 19 Lakhs and Rs. 21 Lakhs.
