MG Hector has been launched in India just two months back and is in huge demand already.Within 2 months, the total units has crossed 3,500 while recently 5,000th unit was also being rolled out from their Halol plant in Gujarat. It is great to see the new car launches performing so well amidst the low car sales in the Indian market.
In August 2019, a total of 2,018 units were sold which means around 30% growth as compared to July 2019.In comparison to all its rivals in the segment, it is selling much more than its competitors.Mahindra XUV500 has garnered sales of 968 in the same month while that of Harrier is 635.And the total sales of Jeep Compass in India in August is 605 units which means slightly less than that of Tata Harrier.
Tata Harrier are likely to increase in the next month as only a few days back, Tata Motors have launched very sporty version of Harrier in the form of Dark edition which is based on the top end trim of the SUV.Between, it is great to watch the new car brands in India performing so well.Kia Motors has sold record 6,236 units of Seltos in its debut month.
There are a number of reasons for the success of Hector.First of all its pricing.MG Hector has been launched at a very competitive pricing in India. It undercuts all its rivals in India and that’s a major reasons for the high sales figures of the new SUV in India.Second reason is its massive size.MG Hector is huge in size and is much longer than all its competitors and has got a lot of road presence as well.It looks very stylish and modern as well.
The next reason is top notch features and safety equipments on offer. It gets massive 10.4 inch infotainment system, biggest in class panoramic sunroof, 360 degree camera, 17 inch alloys, massive boot space of 587 litres, connected car technology with voice commands, powered tailgate, electrically adjustable driver and co driver seat among others.
Not only this, it offers much more engine options than its rivals.Hector comes with 1.5 litre petrol engine with option for manual and 7 speed DCT option along with petrol 48V smart hybrid unit as well for better fuel economy. There is also a 2.0 litre diesel engine with manual gearbox.
Morris Garages will be increasing the production of Hector to 3,000 units per month starting from September 2019 as there is a huge demand for Hector and to reduce the waiting period as well. The BS-VI compliant variants of Hector will be launching in India in early 2020.
