MG Motors to showcase 14 cars at Auto Expo 2020, Hector 7 Seater, Maxus D90, Hatchbacks, MPVs

MG Motor India will be showcasing as many as 14 new cars at the upcoming Auto Expo 2020 which is all set to begin on February 5.According to the carmakers, their pavilion at the upcoming event next month, will have focus on futuristic cars including internet, electric and autonomous cars and will have around 14 cars across all the segments including hatchbacks, sedans, SUVs and multi utility vehicles along with the Vision-i concept which was seen for the first time at the Shanghai Auto Show last year.

For the first time, Morris Garages would be participating in Auto Expo and the brand will showcase not only its present range of cars but also vehicles for future as well.

Speaking on the occasion, Rajeev Chaba, said, “MG Motor India is committed to accelerating the adoption of eco-friendly, next-generation mobility solutions over the long term in India. To achieve this goal, we aim to establish our technology leadership and further consolidate our position in the Indian automotive space. Our presence at this year’s Auto Expo with a focus on future technologies for India is a testimony to this commitment. All MG products at the Expo operate at the intersection of our core focus on innovation, customer experience and sustainability-led development.”

Morris Garages currently only have one car in their portfolio and with only Hector they have managed to get such a great response in their debut market.In just 6 months of introduction, the Hector SUV has crosses 15,000 sales mark selling consistently at 3,200 units per month while the total bookings orders are above 30,000.It is available with 1.5 L petrol and 2.0 L Diesel engine with mild hybrid variant with 1.5 L petrol engine as well with automatic transmission option being limited to petrol variants only.Number of reasons can be given for Hector shaking up the mid size SUV segment including competitive pricing, highly feature loaded and connected car technology.

The second car for India by Morris Garages will soon be launching in India in the form of eZS which comes in 2 variants – Excite and Exclusive.The launch of the pure electric SUV by the brand for India will take place on January 27 and will find competition with good going Hyundai’s Kona Electric.Expected price for this SUV will be Rs. 23 Lakhs to Rs. 25 Lakhs.This electric SUV will also be showcased at the auto expo 2020.Official bookings for the electric SUV are open at an amount of Rs. 50,000.

The 7 seater version of Hector has also been spied on test a number of times on the Indian roads and will also be in the limelight at the Delhi Auto Expo.To distinguish it from Hector, it will have certain exterior updates and it will carry Rs. 1 Lakh premium pricing over the regular Hector.It is likely to be called by the name Hector plus and will enter into an established segment and clash with Mahindra XUV500 and upcoming Tata Gravitas.
