New gen Mahindra Scorpio has been seen multiple times whether it is with now launched XUV700 or being tested with heavy camouflage.
Few days back, the images of new iteration of the SUV from the commercial shoot were leaked confirming the final design.
New Scorpio will get brawnier and upright stance. The grille is also updated while twin Led projector headlamps will be really powerful. Alloy wheels size is expected to be size although design will be very classy this time around.
Tail lights shares resemblance with Volvo Cars. While it would intriguing to see whether the homegrown carmakers offers normal or panoramic sunroof with the SUV since it has been spotted with both of them.
Like the Mahindra Thar, New Scorpio will be underpinned by new ladder frame chassis. Thar scored 4 stars in Global NCAP test and upcoming SUV is expected to be high on safety as well.
As you enter the cabin, you will be greeted by premium quality interiors with much better quality of material than before. Piano black finish has been utilised throughout. At the centre of dashboard sits new 9” touchscreen setup with all the tech on offer.
Climate control unit is a direct lift from XUV700 while MID buttons are shared with Thar. Steering wheel is flat bottomed unit. Instrument cluster, although still analog, is a new unit.
One can expect more space for the last two rows thanks to increase in dimensions. Scorpio can be had in 6 & 7 seater options, with 3rd row available only as front facing.
Currently Scorpio has TPMS, auto wipers, rear camera, cruise control, auto ac, leather seats, 2 airbags, 7” touchscreen infotainment system on offer.
New expected equipments are drive modes, electric sunroof, dual zone ac, connected car tech, 9” touchscreen with wireless connectivity, all 4 disc brakes, 6 airbags among others.
Solely offered with 2.2 L Diesel engine as of now, New Scorpio will gain mStallion petrol engine mated to manual and automatic gearbox. All wheel drive will return and expected to remain limited to top trim.

Currently priced between Rs 12.42 lakh and Rs 16.27 lakhs, New Scorpio price will start from Rs 11.8 lakh for petrol manual base model with feature rich top spec trim, with Diesel AWD, expected to have a price sticker of Rs 18 lakhs.

New Mahindra Scorpio is expected to hit the dealerships most probably by the month of June. Apart from this, carmakers planned number of launches including eKUV100NXT, XUV300 Facelift in Q1 2023, XUV300 EV among others.
