Nissan India currently have two cars in their lineup – Kicks and GT-R and their range will soon expand with the addition of a sub compact SUV, Magnite on which the carmakers are betting high. Here are all the details of Nissan Magnite including its features, price, interior, engine options and comparison with rivals.
Nissan Magnite Exterior
The Magnite looks mini Kicks. Upfront it features Datsun’s hexagonal grille instead of the V-shaped design. The LED headlamps is sharp and stylish and the LED DRLs are in L-shaped like the Datsun Redi-Go. Rather than SUV stance, it looks much more of a crossover.
Full body cladding is also provided and roof rails. Black colour roof suggest there will be dual tone exterior colour themes on options for the higher trims. Roof antenna is standard and not shark finn. Wheels are expected to be 16-inchers.
While coming to the rear profile, the main highlight here are the modern LED tail lamps which have teased a couple of months back by Nissan India. The upcoming compact SUV has been seen a couple of times testing on the Indian roads with heavy camouflage.

On the inside, you will see a number of elements being borrowed from the Kicks SUV including the 8” dash top infotainment system and the design of steering wheel, door handles and all other elements. Nissan India will be available with single tone black theme for lower trims while top variants are likely to get dual tone seat upholstery.
The interior door handles would be finished in chrome and the top variants of the Magnite SUV is likely to get leather seat upholstery as well. Lots of storage spaces and charging ports will be available for front and rear occupants. Silver surrounds will be applied on the ac vents and the gearbox. For the comfort of rear passengers, separate air con vents will also be on offer but from mid variants.
Nissan Magnite Engine Options
Nissan India will provide two petrol engines in Magnite – 1.0 L Petrol and 1.0 L Turbo petrol engine. Both the engines will be available with manual and automatic transmission option.

- The 1.0 litre BR10 Petrol engine has been borrowed from Renault Triber which puts out 71 BHP and 96 NM. It will be limited to basic variants and 5 speed manual as well as 5 speed automatic gearbox will on offer.
- The 1.0 litre HR10 turbocharged petrol mill which the Magnite will get will soon also finds its way to the Renault’s top selling MPV, the Trier. The power and torque outputs are 99 BHP and 160 NM. This powerful petrol unit can be had with both the gearbox options.
- There won’t be any diesel engine on offer for the Magnite and is also not expected anytime soon as well.

Underpinning the Nissan Magnite will be same platform which is also forms the base for Renault Triber, the CMF-A+ platform. This platform is longer as well as wider than the standard CMF-A platform which the Kwid hatchback uses.

Nissan Magnite Launch Date
Magnite was going to be launched in India in August 2020 but due to ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the launch has been pushed to January 2021.
