Nissan Terrano Discontinued in India due to low sales figures

Nissan Terrano won’t be upgraded to the BS 6 emission standards

Nissan Terrano which was up till now offered with 1.5 litre diesel and 1.6 litre petrol engine has been discontinued and removed from the carmakers official website.The reason for the discontinuation is due to poor sales figures and will not be making a comeback in the Indian market.

The 1.6 litre petrol engine of Terrano was capable of producing 102 BHP and 148 NM of peak torque while the Diesel engine on offer, 1.5 litre unit, comes in two seats of tune with power and torque output figures of 84 BHP / 108 BHP and 200 NM.Both, petrol and diesel (84 BHP) mills were offered with 5 speed manual gearbox option while Nissan India also provided automatic transmission for diesel (108 BHP) along with 6 speed manual transmission.

The SUV was offered across 6 trims – base XL, XE, XL Optional, XV Premium, XV Premium Automatic and Sport Edition, available in the price range of Rs. 10 Lakhs and Rs. 14.64 Lakhs (Ex Showroom).

Nissan India will soon also launch the BS 6 version of Kicks SUV with a new 1.3 litre turbo petrol engine with best in class power and torque figures.In the BS 6 era, Kicks will be available with 1.3 L turbo petrol and 1.5 L petrol powertrains.

Also the carmaker is working on a feature rich compact SUV, Magnite to take on the likes of Mahindra XUV300, Maruti Vitara Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Ford Ecosport, Honda WR-V, Tata Nexon and will be priced very competitively, with price starting from as low as Rs. 5.25 L.The Compact SUV will be highly feature rich with equipments like connected car technology, 360 degree camera among others.
