S-Cross gets New features across Variants inspired from Ciaz 2018

Following the launch of Ciaz Facelift 2018,Maruti Suzuki India has updated the S-Cross crossover lineup with a host of new features.Although there is no news regarding price hike accompanying the addition of the extra features.

Speaking about add-on features, updated S-Cross firstly gets Speed Alert Sytem(SAS).This is the same system seen on Ciaz Facelift which notifies driver every time the speed of the car crosses 80 kmph.Other features includes Passenger Seat Belt reminder and Rear Parking Sensors which too has been inspired from Ciaz Facelift.

In addition to these new standard safety features,Maruti Suzuki has included automatic climate control, cruise control, smart keyless entry with engine start/stop button, machined alloy wheels, rear wiper and washer and auto folding ORVMs with integrated turn signals in it’s Delta variant to make it more value for money.

The S-Cross facelift was launched in India back in October 2017.The facelifted S-Cross features a more premium and aggressive design than it’s predecessor along with sporty front bumper, new LED headlights along with thick chrome slated grille, sporty alloys with reworked rear design.

Interior of the SUV received some changes in the form of new features on offer along with satin chrome accents with the use of soft-touch plastic on certain elements inside the cabin.

S-Cross facelift was offered with one diesel engine.Maruti has ditched the large 1.6-litre diesel engine from the S-Cross lineup.S-Cross facelift gets only a smaller 1.3-litre DDiS diesel engine.1.3-litre diesel engine gets Maruti’s SHVS Hybrid technology producing 89 bhp of power with peak torque of 200 nm.This unit is paired to a manual gearbox.

S-Cross currently does not come with a petrol motor.Recenlty Maruti Nexa advertised on Google that the S-Cross petrol is on sale starting from Rs. 8.1 lakhs. This ad was soon removed.Hopefully Maruti will introduce new 1.5-litre petrol engine augmented with SHVS hybrid technology in S-Cross facelift soon.

These added features along with the introduction of petrol unit in S-Cross will give the crossover an added advantage over the segment leader,Hyundai Creta.
