Tata Motors India has officially rolled out their first Harrier SUV from their plant in Pune.This is for the first time that Tata has fully revealed their upcoming SUV, the Harrier.This video by Tata Motors also showcase the front and rear profile of the production-spec Tata Harrier.Tata has setup the production plant of Harrier in just 6 months.
Tata has officially opened the bookings for Tata Harrier at a token amount of Rs. 30,000.Even the buyers can book the Harrier SUV online.At twitter, Tata Motors responded to user who was asking about Harrier’s price that the base model of Harrier will carry a price tag of Rs. 16 Lakhs with the top-spec fully loaded trim’s price going upto Rs. 21 Lakhs (Prices, On-Road).
Tata Harrier, codenamed H5X will be based on L550 platform which also underpins the Range Rover Evoque and Land Rover Discovery.Tata Motors have been bringing many teasers of Tata Harrier including it’s engine details which is named ‘Kryotec’.This engine will be a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder Multijet diesel motor making around 140 HP of power and 320 NM of torque in Harrier.Both Front wheel drive and 4WD will be on option.This is the same unit which also powers the Jeep Compass.Harrier will be offered with this engine only at the launch and will be paired to 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic gearbox.Harrier, like the other Tata cars will come with multiple drive modes.Tata says that the Harrier has been tested for over 2.2 million kilometres in the toughest of terrains.
Harrier will sport a muscular exterior with 17-inch stylish alloys, fog lamps, stunning tail lamps, floating roof design, distinctive character lines and high ground clearance.This 5-seater premium SUV will get a spacious cabin with features including electric sunroof, rear ac vents, 7-inch infotainment system with certain connectivity options, steering mounted controls, 6 airbags, surround sound system with advanced and informative MID.
The much awaited Harrier SUV will be unveiled in India in the first week of December and will be launched in January 2019.Official prices of the SUV will be announced at the time of launch while the deliveries will commence in the later half of January 2019.When launched, it will take on the likes of Hyundai Creta, Jeep Compass, Mahindra XUV500 and Nissan Kicks.A 7-seater version, codenamed H7X, will hit the Indian roads somewhere in the second half of 2019.
